That was easily Slaf’s best game he’s played in the NHL, he was finally attacking the middle, he was finally shooting the puck, and he was finally creating chances, it was like a totally different Slaf from anything we’ve seen in the NHL so far, and it was awesome to watch
I miss NiCole
Scoresheet doesn’t reflect it but thought we held our own against another top team, not at all upset by this loss. By far the most noticeable difference in St. Louis’s tenure has been this team’s utter refusal to quit when we’re behind late – even when we lose the third period is always fun to watch.
Slaf was amazing today, anyone saying we’re just complementing basic plays isn’t watching the same game I am – he had a bunch of scoring chances, and that pass in the third to spring Dvo was beautiful. Very happy to see him be rewarded as the extra attacker. They need to try Monahan with him and Caufield already, it’s time. Also, I actually quite like the Newhook-Suzuki-Andy line. Fast as fuck and Anderson has been noticeably better the past few games (and got an point).
Oh, and Allen was Price-like this game. If we do end up trading him, I absolutely want to see him succeed.
Not upset, we competed and played fine, one or two bounces and it could’ve been different. Slaf with 7 shots and seems to be improving game by game which is nice.
We honestly played great. We still lost. That’s alright

Might be weird to complain about him… but between his complete lack of 5v5 production, the fact that hes always offside, and his inability to find open ice on the powerplay (this one isnt fully on him), im pretty disappointed with cole so far this season
The off-side challenge needs to go, it fucking breaks so many games.
Bit of a bummer tonight, they played with a lot of heart but Vancouver has had a ton of success so far this year with capitalizing on mistakes.
On the bright side, Slaf was fantastic. Points need to start coming, but they will if he keeps playing like this. Earned some coach trust as well, finally played late in the game with the goalie pulled. Love to see the progression in his play night after night.
Great bounce back by Allen as well! Yeah he let in a couple, but he kept it from being a much worse final score.

That sucked. Beaten by a better team. Habs tried, and also had some shit luck (goal called back, skate blades breaking). Allen made some spectacular saves. Could have been a lot worse. Slaf progressing nicely.
Slaf getting 3rd star from RDS even if he got no points.
Holy, is this it? Will they finally stop hating???
Habs fans be like « he gonna break out soon »
Slafkovsky had 7 shots on goal and 11 shot attempts.
He looked like a 1st overall tonight. I think he had the most icetime of forwards, too. Every week he has his ‘best game’. He looked dominant every shift tonight. Good chemistry with Cole.
He is going to have one stellar game like this again, but the pucks are going to go in the net; And he won’t look backward. He’s closer to breaking out then we thought.
2nd Line by far was the best line tonight and our 1st line was our worst.
Deserved a better fate in this one boys
It isn’t a bad loss. The effort is there.
The goals cancelled because of Caufiled’s offsides (3 so far in this season) remind me the year when Gallagher caused some goal cancelllations due to goalie interference. Three cancelled goals isn’t insignificant.
*BAD*
– A lot of bad luck tonight a bit. But as the douchey guy in the titanic says at the dinner scene “you make your own luck”.
– First time fluke, second time be careful, third time it’s a trend. Stay onside Caufield. It’s a weird thing to get someone on but just a little more focus that goal stands and I think this game goes a much different direction.
– Still with the justified goal called back this was a game the Habs could have kept in reach. Felt like this would still be a game at 2-0 the 3-0 was the dagger.
– I’m not buying the snake bitten excuse on some player(s). If you get that much ice time you have to get one eventually before it’s all said and done and you punt on the player aka to the fourth line instead of getting that much ice time. At a certain point it’s just poor finishing even if said player is looking better which is good.
– Vancouver should have been called for many more penalties.
*GOOD*
– Best forward on the ice for the Montreal Canadiens was Slaf. Not particular close. It may seem a bit ironic that I’m saying he was the best player despite not finishing great himself but I see an ability and talent that is there. Yes he fanned a bit in the first but Let’s put it this way, my hands don’t hurt watching him. He was everything I would want to see out of a young player growing into the league.
– Barron quietly with a few really nice plays and strong awareness. His stonks are up massive compared to the start of the season where it seemed people weren’t super high on him, not low either, but he’s shown some stuff.
– Yeah Matheson will go for an adventure pass he and there or your left thinking bruh wtf. But honestly, not sure a team in the league doesn’t want him. Amazing skater and does make some good plays.
– Yeah I hint at his finishing which I’m not surprised about above but Anderson is looking better. Drew a couple penalties.
– Harvey Pinard with a good game in all ends. To me he’s been a bit quiet, I remember doing my fantasy draft in espn and seeing him having a good ranking was a bit wth and expectations might have been a bit high for him but he was good tonight.
– Dvorak I think has done well enough being back. He’s worked wel with Slaf.
Watching my team is fun again
Canucks fan here. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the game and I have got to say what an incredible atmosphere! It was electric in that building. The fans were super great too! Great game!
Josh Anderson is an anchor on any line he plays on and is a liability. Thank God his contract is setup to be a cheap buyout on his last couple of years.
Barron looks so fucking smooth lately. He’s a lot like Matheson, minus the scary turnovers and poor coverage.
not a bad game as such, but the amount of bad luck, damn. Allen was outstanding, though, and I liked Skaf as well. Looked way more confident and it showed on his game. If he keeps this kind of game up its just a matter of time until he starts cashing in
3rd star for slaf.
