  1. While I want to maintain a level of hope that we can be a bubble team in another 2-3 seasons, it's really hard right now. And with our luck, top prospects will turn out duds, or just remain decent prospects until they're dealt elsewhere and finally flourish under a better team/coach/system.

Quinn needs to go. Vlasic needs to retire, or waive his NMC. Even then though, it'd be so hard to get someone to take his contract. Make Hertl captain, Cooch and Ferraro wear the As. Logan can be a mentor in the way Jumbo was, let Hertl work on team relationships with the new young players as the new captain. I think he could thrive as a leader in a locker room that's getting younger.

  2. The Kuzmenko collision with Kahkonen really cheesed me off for the same reason. The sharks(lowercase this season) who did not have the game awareness to realize their goalie got kneed in the head are not good enough to play in the NHL, and they need to step up to make up for that. You need to care about each other, even when you are getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly. I know it is a lot to ask to not break down mentally, but that is probably the biggest ask we have of these players. At least do the basic stuff like protect the goalie. I'm assuming they have lost focus with the nut-cracking season, but we got 70 more games bud, so you better do your job. They are still making 500k each to play hockey. Yes the teams are better, but the back to back double-digit trebuchet to the groin performances was beyond disgraceful. Even in beer league, a bad team can hold the best team in the division to less than 10. Especially with the boost of being embarrassed last game. That's with a group of regular dudes not wanting to get embarrassed and deciding this Tuesday at 11PM we are going to lock it down for 1 game that nobody is watching. Cripes. Sorry for the rant.
