  1. I feel your pain. Have been watching Boston break my heart since the early 70's. I would be sleeping and my mother would start screaming at the TV. I would end up falling asleep on her lap trying to stay up till the game was over, was tough especially those late night West coast games.

  2. Video idea: Game 7: who does it favor? I feel like over the past 10 years it's favored the road team (and the team with Henrik Lundqvist, the best game 7 goalie of all time)

  3. You were right about Roy's appendicitis, when Tugnutt played a game in 1994. Roy came back the following game with a 60-something saves

  4. Ducks v Kings literally a fierce match up no matter how bad the teams were, are, have been compare to each other. Other rivalries get stale when one team is bad compared to the other.

  5. Literally just finished watching sb nation's video on the rivalry

  6. Montreal fan here. Greatest match-up of all time. I don't like you guys, but I have great respect for you! Best of luck to both our our teams, I hope we meet in the playoffs again soon!

  7. The Max Pacioretty one-timer of a rolling puck in game 7 2014 remains one of my favourite Canadiens goals ever.

  8. I need to see these two teams face off again in the playoffs I miss it so much although Boston has had the worst side of it. As of late the Bruins record is better, I love watching these two teams play in the playoffs

  9. Montreal knocked out Boston from 1946-1987 and they met nearly every year during that time. That's a hell of a streak.
We laugh at Toronto now, but imagine the salt from Bruins fans during that run.

  10. I like this rivalries playlist. This was a good rivalry though I don't see the hate that was in the Detroit-Colorado rivalry. There was the 1979 where they met in the semi-finals with the Canadiens winning 4-3. It became basically the finals when the Rangers upset the Islanders in the other semi-finals series. Game 7 was the famous game where Boston was leading late and they took a too many men on the ice penalty and Montreal rallied to win in overtime. It's a great game and you can watch it in it's entirety here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35qj69ww9fs&t=3434s

  11. Montreal won EIGHTEEN consecutive series over Boston between 1943-44 and 1986-87, and Montreal has won 25 of the 34 total series between the teams.

  12. Always the best playoff games ! Half the time, the Bruins forget their whole great way of playing of the season to come back to being bullies and get their ass kick…I just never get why ? Is it in the water ? Apparently Montreal is also the kryptonite for Tuuka Rask…Montreal kryptonite, except for a Chris Kreider sliding skate first illegally on goalies, is the Lightning right now…I just don't get it, whatever the team on the ice…

  13. I heard you mention that "9 out of 16 matchups Montreal has beaten Boston." That's only one win above 50%, not exactly domination?

  14. When i saw Robinson hammer Sleiger in the 1st rd of 86 i knew it was gonna be a different playoffs for the Habs. And then they won the cup!

  15. In my opinion Cam Nealy was the reason why the Bruins won from 88 to 94 Roy couldn’t stop him

  16. One of My Favorite Rivalries in The NHL Such a Classic Big Time And It Would Be So Awesome To See a Canadians Bruins Game in Person!

  17. I wish you mentioned more of the lore of this playoff rivalry, especially:
    – why the B's 1988 playoff win was so historic, they hadn't beaten the Habs in 18 straight playoff series since 1946
    – it wasn't just Andy Moog who had the Habs' number, it was especially Cam Neely, possibly the player Roy feared most
    – the 2002 series featured captain Saku Koivu who had returned from cancer just before the playoffs started
    – the 2004 series was a historic 3-1 series comeback
    – the 2014 series was notable for B's having won the Presidents Trophy but still losing again to the Canadiens, reminiscent of 1971

  18. great video. Before 1988 you don't want to examine that rivalry because the Canadiens beat the Bruins, I believe, 21 straight series going all the way back, including 1971 when the Bruins had this incredible season but lost to the Canadiens and a rookie goalie named Ken Dryden 4 games to 3 in the first round.
