Torts « wants » Brink to get into the lineup, but the « process » is forcing him to get scratched for Nic Deslauriers. As if its not his own decision.

Remember a few weeks ago when Torts, the media, and fans were saying “Well we can’t change the lineup *now,* we’re playing well!” (Even though Torts was already changing the lineup while playing well)

The Flyers had a strong win on Friday and Torts immediately followed it up by scratching two kids. His excuses are obvious BS.

I’m as big a Brink fan as anyone and think he could be a legit star in this league, but he did struggle a bit after coming in red hot. It’s Tort’s process with a lot of younger players and if you are going to sit guys like Frost and Konecny last year you can’t be afraid to sit guys like Brink when having a bad run.

There will come a time, maybe this season where guys like Deslauriers will be scratched, whether they are playing well or poorly. But Brink and Zamula earned their time in the press box and I say that as a big fan of both of them. They were give time to work through their issues and just need a bit of a reset.

people are gonna lose their minds about this but there are still some things brink needs to work on, same with foerster for different reasons, but part of development is playing and part of it is learning and part of is watching how the team plays. brink is still really passive when he challenges puck carriers, he’s a small guy who has leverage with his stick when hes close enough but he doesnt engage, he doesnt check for the hands to seperate the carrier from the puck like atkinson does. i think mostly torts wants him to watch how the team defends because hes got a habit of cheating the defensive zone and staying high. those are my observations anyway.
