Nooo not hoggy, who will room with petey and do the dishes?

  2. HarveySpecter1970

Fuck no! Zadorov sucks and tanev is old

You don’t trade young players like hoglander. We need cheap young guys to come into the lineup now that we’re decent. Also who knows if this season is a flash in the pan, u don’t want to get rid of something like that and have it bite u in the ass

  3. NinCross

No. The Calgary Canucks can fuck right off.

  4. mediumyeet

I’ve got no issue including Hoglander in a deal as long as Calgary is including Rasmus Andersson.

For a guy like Zadorov or Tanev the best prospect I’d consider parting with would be Aman.

  5. Flintydeadeye

Don’t trade Hoglander. He’s rooming with Petey, do you think trading his roommate will help with contract talks? If you need to trade Hogs, you do it only after you have Petey’s signature on the 8 year extension

  6. PaperweightCoaster

I want Calgary’s top 5 pick this year otherwise they can fuck off.

  7. cowfromjurassicpark

Hoglander fills a hole for cheap, why would we trade him?

  8. joetothejack

Hoglander for a Hanifin or Andersson deal, but not for Tanev or Zadorov

  9. Trading Hoggy for a problematic Zadorov or ancient Tanev doesn’t seem very prudent.

  10. chicksahoy69

Podz would be the one that goes, not hog

  11. nite_awol

How about… no. Fuck Calgary. They will accept Klimovich for Zadorov and be happy.

  12. SourGrapesFTW

    Tanev looks extremely sloooooow…

I would take him as a free agent in the summer, but I wouldn’t give up assets to get him this year.

    Andersson or Hanifin? Sure

This team still needs to operate as if they are the bubble team they thought they were in the off season. If you’re getting a multi-year piece of the lineup that raises your long term ceiling, you move stuff.

But they’re not a contender where you need to start selling out for single season impacts.

  14. Everyone is forgetting that Höglander played for the Canucks, and is therefore much more valuable to Calgary than he would be to other teams. A history with Vancouver is basically a 2x value modifier for Calgary.

Just keep adding random ECHL quality players & low quality prospects to even out the trade value, and boom—Andersson and Hanifin both 50% retained.

Come on Allvin, how hard could it be? It used to work for me in Be a GM mode.

  15. I’m fine with the Canucks giving up Hoglander. He’s shown he’s a bottom 6 player at this point, and even then is struggling to keep a spot in the lineup.

If that fixes the defence for a playoff run, then that’s an easy price to pay.

I’m not sure how this became a Hoglander trade thread, but as much as I’m taking heat here for calling out some seriously flawed trade proposals, I wouldn’t trade Hoggy either. There’s too much to like and he has the potential to be a solid NHL’er.

I also don’t think that the Flames would be desperate to get an NHL ready prospect. With Pospisil and Zary in the lineup, Pelletier coming back from injury, and Coronato coming back up soon, they’ve got enough youth in the lineup.

If they’re seriously thinking rebuild, they should be stockpiling picks and as they trade away top players and their cap hits, taking on contracts like Garland’s with draft pick sweeteners.

  17. Renohajier

Höglander is fun to watch, but not good enough to even crack the lineup at the moment. Not too much potential either with his lack of hockey IQ.

He will be traded if the canucks can use him to upgrade the blueline.

  18. Fickle_Cup2207

Let me preface this by saying I love HogIander and want to keep him but if Calgary wants to overpay hell yeah you do it. They’re desperate and I would love to see the Canucks fleece the flames.

  19. I really like Höglander so I hope it’s not him though I know he probably has the most value. He makes the occasional poor play(Toronto) but he has been noticeable this year and the team is better off with buzzsaw players like him and Garland.

I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion but I would be fine with them moving on from Podkolzin if there is potential value to Calgary.

  20. VanIsleRyan

If you had to choose…who you rather move…Hogs or Podz??

  21. realheikko

Look Craig, the best I can do is…(looks at paper)…Sheldon Dries.

  22. marsisblack

Um, they can Hoglander….for their first (unprotected). If not, then they can fuck right off. They think we would give them Hoglander for Zadorov? Hahahahahahahhaha. Fuck you Calgary, this isnt the Benning era.

  23. Reign_Nateo

The last thing the Flames need is wingers… Besides Dustin Wolf that is the only area they have depth/prospects. The Flames aren’t going to trade either of these guys to Vancouver anyway.

  24. Ktowncanuck

Hogs is playing well, I don’t think it would be a good trade atm. My two cents.

  25. nofakefans18

I’d trade Hoggy to the Flames

If the Flames are willing to give us Rasmus Andersson

  26. arazamatazguy

I’d trade Hoglander for Tanev in a heart beat. Especially if Tanev is willing to sign for a couple seasons.

If Hog doesn’t have the hockey sense now its doubtful he ever will and RHD are as we all know very hard to find.

I just don’t think Hoglander will be enough so I don’t think this happens anyway.
