  1. They must really be taking Johnson’s assignment seriously if they’re calling up TFW

  2. Sloane_Kettering

Is Johnson playing center in Cleveland? If so this makes sense. Would rather he get big minutes in the A at center than few minutes a night at wing. Hopefully he can put on some weight too

I really hope for the best as he’s always cleaning up in the AHL but I just hope he’s not gonna end up being another Bemstrom as a classic AAAA player. Still…if anyone in that locker room has a sense of humor there better be a wind up clock sitting in that locker before he arrives tonight

I hope he does well, but I worry that he is most likely a tweener.

I’d have preferred giving the nod to Olivier but if TFW is doing better, why the hell not?

    I like it.

Agreed with everyone in here so far, TFW has been killing in the A and has earned this shot. Also gives KJ more opportunity to play a lot of minutes at Center.

Makes sense, not rushing KJ back in after 4 games, kicking the tires on all these guys that have been around a bit. Fixy can hold down the role for the time being rather than KJ having his development potentially stunted. Think most of us expect at this point Fixy is a career AAAA player, but whatever. He was going to break all the Monsters’ offensive records, so you might as well throw him back in.

I know it’s easy to compare them right now because of the situation at hand, but I fully believe that Fixy is a better all-around hockey player than Bemmer. Give him an actual shot at NHL minutes. He’s a ferocious competitor and plays a much better two-way game.

Oh man. I forget who it was during the Torts era but he called someone promising up from the A and it was just the shot of juice we needed. Let’s see what happens.

People like to hate on management, but kudos to them for being willing to risk the waiver wire to call up somebody who’s killing it in the AHL. What better incentive for the young players than evidence that good play will be rewarded.

    Also, grats to TFW.
