wow. seventh last in the pacific, just pathetic. tear it down and start all over again, this was a shameful season.

  2. HarveySpecter1970

Weak goals by Desmith but can’t win them all.

I hope Alvin takes a look at some shutdown RHD around the league.

  3. TheBends1971

Jonathon, does knowing your getting over $10mill a year for 7 more years make you not really give a fuck?

Scheduled loss for sure, I would love to know the percentage of games with a team on the second half of a back to back with travel against a rested team that end in a win for the tired team because I doubt it’s very high. Thought it could’ve been worse honestly given how gassed the boys clearly looked, hate that we keep losing against other Canadian teams though lol only because the fan bases are so much more vocal. Really liked how Tocchet utilized the lines strategically all game as well, using the bottom six way more since they are fresher than the top six and putting the fourth line out at the end to try to get Karlsson his first.

Not too upset with this one though it never feels good to lose.

Back to back games with travel is such a stupid concept. Why is it even a thing?

  6. The whole team played poorly and it was clear they were gassed by the second. With that said the refs ignoring every dirty play against us absolutely ruined our chance to do anything after a b2b.

Höglander wasn’t great in the first two but is one of the only players who showed up in the third. Almost the entire D group played poorly though Myers had some surprisingly decent moments. No one individually is to blame the entire top 6 was bad and the third line was garbage without Garland but also again this was a b2b and they all were gassed.

Lots of travel and a lot of hockey in six days. Get some rest and on to the next one

  8. NikkahEff

Bright Side Kraken still have a chance to lose the game and looks like St.Louis will lose as well, let’s hope the panthers can muster up something and beat the kings to keep everything status quo.

  9. Away_Adhesiveness938

Really don’t like that Pospisil character

  10. deanaok96

I still think it’s stupid as fuck that they travelled for a back to back and are back in Vancouver on Saturday. Maybe I’m naive when it comes to how games are scheduled though. I don’t know, it just irks me lol

  11. metrichustle

A back to back is fine, but one you have to travel is tough. Boys need rest

  12. excitedprotons

One of those games…where the scheduling was dumb af resulting in us just playing like ass. Win against Seattle on Saturday and all is forgiven.

  13. helixflush

I’ve literally never seen Hughes so gassed in my life.

  14. AdvertisingUsual8354

5 plane rides in 7 days is crazy

  15. Krapshoot

You can’t win them all, but I’m seriously questioning the decision to put Garland on PP1 over Hronek. I’d assume Tocchet’s logic was that in case PP2 needed to go out, he wanted Hronek to run it.

Boys were gassed, DeSmith had great saves but let in some pretty weak goals.

I’ll likely be going to the next one in Calgary. Hopefully the boys find their legs for that one. On to the Kraken

  16. Not their fault. They probably got to Calgary at like 2/3 am

  17. afterbirth_slime

    Cool, anyways…

    My thoughts about that game.

  18. theman126

It’s okay? Long term it is good that the Flames and Oilers play themselves out of the bottom 5 and get shit draft picks.

  19. Well we won a game yesterday that we had no business winning so 2pts in 2 games. Not bad. Just like 2 OTLs

  20. stotings

Why must we lose against teams I utterly hate, leafs and flames 😢

  21. carry-on_replacement

I’m starting to notice some concerning trends when it comes to 5v5. I think teams are doing much better controlling our zone entrances and our dump and chase hasn’t been very effective.

I also think our défense is opening a lot more holes than in the first 10-14 games but I think that might just be that we’re playing injured and Hughes is gassed every game

  22. Lorenzo_

Yall remember a couple years ago when flames were dominating and we were shit, and we beat em 7-1? This is that lol

  23. Stupid scheduling should be part of the next CBA. They did the Eastern road trip, then Vancouver, then Calgary on a back to back. 5 different cities in 8 nights.

  24. Ok_Philosopher_2301

Juulsen’s gotta go. Blueger looks like garb too.

  25. cowfromjurassicpark

I’m blaming this on the scheduling, got to calgs at 3 am and clearly looked tired. Heronek struggles without Hughes unfortunately

  26. missingtheleftcoast

Where was the soft goal Marky always let in as a Canuck? Staying home, not racing out to the circle…

  27. scarlet911

How was their « structure » in this game?

  28. I’m not a fan of the referees on so many missed calls this game, and that high stick to Garland’s mouth should’ve been a penalty.

    * High stick to Garland’s face (Double Minor) – NO CALL
    * Interference on Miller and DeSmith from Martin Pospisil – NO CALL
    * That late hit from Zadorov to Pettersson back – NO CALL

Other than that, our players need to rest up and these back-to-back games are unacceptable in two provinces. It makes no sense played previous games in Vancouver, go to Calgary, and then go back to Vancouver.

  29. Zealousideal-Farm496

    I miss John Garretts commentary

  30. CheesecakeOdd2087

Worst game of the year. Injuries, back to back, etc, it is what it is. In all honesty though one more NHL calibre D is needed. The depth is too thin, and if one or two guys go down on the back end you end up with AHL calibre guys playing way too many minutes back there.

  31. Good job by the flames. They burnt us tonight

  32. Greenarrowfan

meanwhile islander also b2b in ot again

  33. TheBrandroid

i don’t think we played that badly but just looked super tired and keeping it close was great. glad the big boys got a point still.

  34. DaleTheMale8

Sorry guys I had a midterm and couldn’t watch the full game.

The team is 12-0-0 when I watch them and 0-4-1 when I miss their games

  35. wintercom

I know it’s unreasonable to expect we win every game, especially cause we have 3 W’s against the Oilers. But damn it, I hate it when we lose to Canadian teams, especially the ones from Alberta.

  36. cbcguy84

Second game of a back to back on the road. It had to happen at some point. Too bad we lose against both the leafs and the flames, two of the teams I dislike the most.

Just move on. We can’t win them all.

  37. julesieee

I’m fine with this loss. The boys are tired. Calgary needs the points to stay ahead of the Soilers. We experimented with a few spicy line changes. We have a comfortable lead. Still 2nd in our division and third in the league. Scheduled loss. We don’t have to crawl ourselves out of a hole. Still above .500. Can’t win them all. On to the next games. Kraken and Sharks should give us easy points.
