  1. Vancouver fan. Watching bire in this era was amazing. Its not easy being loyal as a hard core canucks fan.

  2. That thumbnail is going to trigger every Canucks fan. Can I get a "Fuck Messier" from my Canuck bros.

  3. Every time the Canucks signed a big ufa they always underperformed. Messier, Erickson and sudin was never as good as he once was for 10 mil.

  4. Samsanov he was drafted out of the IHL, a league on the same tier as the AHL. The IHL tryed to go about it as there own league with no team's as farm team's for the NHL, forgot the whole story but maybe Shannon can do a video what happened to that league….

  5. I felt like a kid when the Capitals and the Buffalo Sabers led by Hasek faced off in the playoffs. It was one of those moments that made me overjoyed.

  6. Imagine how hockey history would've been different had the Wings let go of Scotty Bowman & hired Mike Keenan to take over as coach/GM!! Keenan was rumored to be offered the job while the Rangers were in the middle of their Cup run in 1994, it also complicated matters because he was still under contract to the the Rangers. Had that happen the Wings would still be looking for their 1st Cup since 1955.

  7. I've said it elsewhere, but Kolzig deserved the Conn Smythe that year, not Yzerman. Without Kolzig, the Caps are out in the first round. The Red Wings still had a strong team without Yzerman.

Down the stretch, the Caps signed Bellows and traded for Tikkanen and also for Jeff Brown. This was probably the best group of stretch drive deals in Caps history. Tik got criticized for the empty net he missed in game 2. I don't blame him for losing that game as they were up something like 2 goals when he missed it, but the Wings regrouped and won. I thought Tik helped them down the stretch in the regular season and make the playoffs.

  8. My favorite moment in the CBC documentary about this season is Mike Milbury complaining to agents about how broke his team is

  9. I was living in Nashville at this point, turned 3 during this season. I remember the Predators becoming a team, but I also remember thanks to my extended family living in the Victoria area, that this was when I first became a Canucks fan.

  10. I do agree about the quality of play around this time started to suffer not to mention 3 more teams are set to join before 2001. I don't think I would say this year but in the near future the game was so boring to watch. If you needed the cure for insomnia put a devils game on from this era.

  11. Please do a career video on Irbe. He was a great goalie in San Jose, Vancouver and Carolina. It would be a great watch.

  12. Joe Thornton and Vincent Lecavailer would go on to become franchise leaders for the San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning, respectively.

  13. Hasek #1 in the league. Has any other goalie ever been given that THN consensus distinction?

  14. In any given year I could never rank forsberg ahead of fedorov. Not with a straight face anyway
