I’m an Islanders fan and watched the Ducks/Panthers game. That was a goal. It took a few replays to see the white between the red line and puck but it was in. The refs and Toronto missed that one and I hope the NHL responds quickly.
To be honest, two things need to happen, firstly either update the overhead camera so it doesn’t look like it’s been shot with an iPhone 3, or put cameras on either post looking across the red line. Secondly, may be a good time to think about implementing goal-line technology with something inside the puck to show whether it’s crossed the line or not.
Sabres have a 7 game road trip coming up. Can’t afford to fall much farther behind in points. Without Tage, it’s going to be rough to get the offense back on track. Sure looked like a goal for the Ducks. Ducks really ramped it up in the 3rd but couldn’t score.
Ekblad and Montour come back, now Barkov is out. I wonder if Patrick Kane was watching the game.
The "white" between the "Puck" and the line was the tape on the stick. That is confirmed. However that is the problem his stick was covering where the Puck was. If he had tapped and pulled his stick away you would be able to see it went in. However he was covering his own evidence and sadly the that is a shodow of a doubt.
You could just end this debate and never have this issue again by putting a sensor in the Puck like they do in almost every league outside of the NHL right? If the sensor goes off it's a goal if it doesn't no goal… Soooo the NHL is now baseball… You could fix it with technology but that's not cool…
That was a goal pure and simple. Ducks got fleeced out of at least a point tn hard. Unbelievable
I am not expert and not a ref for a reason but that's a goal if Ive ever seen one man!
The NHL should be ashamed of themselves, that was in the net 100%. The ref’s should’ve never made it to the parking lot tonight. This bad officiating has to stop. And the NHL needs to do the right thing if they’re going to implement video review. Such a disgrace. The call on the ice should have been a goal apparently then Toronto couldn’t have called it back because they threw the ref’s under the bus in their decision. Disgraceful by the NHL.
It was late in Toronto on a Friday and they just wanted to go home. That's the only explanation that makes sense
Check the Bet Spread :p
Same thing happened in the NY game
As the Ducks tweeted out: "we lost 2-2"
I was rooting for Florida, but I don't understand how they called it a non-goal. There was clearly ice between the puck and the goal line, so how was it not in? I get that it needs to be conclusive, but this is one of those few times where the footage actually WAS conclusive and STILL it wasn't enough apparently.
Go Jets Go! ✈️
You know after the ducks call today I think hockey is fixed
I missed the ducks game due to an early flight. Probably for the best.
As Randy Moller said on the Florida broadcast, it's the stick that crosses the line.
I still don't know why they don't know why they don't track the puck going into the goal with sensors. Don't they already embed something into the puck anyways?
I am yet to see an image that shows all of the puck crossing the line completely. The call on the ice was no goal, so you need 100% proof that it is in and I don't see it.
Ah yes a nice win…… wait what? I did not ask for the yearly Barkov injury special!!
Hello Puckheads!
12 teams were a perfect 3-0 including ME ! 😊
@predyperdy6787 (146-89-18) is still in front while I am slowly climbing at 131-104-18 in 18th overall
Lets gets ready for a BIG day of Hockey ….
This happened in the CBJ vs NYR game it took them about 10 minutes to figure out if it was a goal or not the officiating of this season so far has been really bad
It was in. It was so blatantly obviously in. I have no idea how anyone can say otherwise, especially professionals. And ducks are undefeated in 3 on 3 this season.
A game tying goal against the Florida Panthers was called a no goal, despite a review where the puck is clearly shown in the net on the challenge review before the whistle is blown, and the Panthers end up winning the game? Where have I heard that one before?
NHL fans are blind 😂 haven’t seen this much fuss about a puck that wasn’t definitively in the net since 2004
man Sabres played so well for most of that game too, even with Tage. Just that close, Jets made for a fun game, i had a blast with this one. on to the Bhawks
As a Florida fan: Ducks lose 2-2. Imagine if they miss the playoffs by a point
That was sooooo a goal and I am a Florida fan
I thought comrie did very well, 2 if not all 3 of the goals were not all on him at all. he looked confident and his positioning was very good.
Don granato is a good coach but hes trash at knowing how to play D and its hurting us to the point where im not sure hes good for us, we need to get better at D big time.
Buffalo sports showing their true colors again. 🙄
Inconclusive evidence to overturn the original call on the ice, which was no goal. Pretty simple
if we're going to waste all this time, and still get a blatant obvious call wrong, why bother wasting time with video replay? that MISSED call needs to come with an explanation, and get that replay ref some glasses, or find out if he's guilty of betting on the game!
As a kings fan, ducks got robbed, that call was terrible, i still cant believe they called that no goal
That was too close to call. When it’s that close I’d say give them the goal. Even though I’m a panthers fan and I like the result. Nobody likes to win this way
Let's go Panthers!!!!🎉
As a panthers fan, that puck was in
Ha ha ha
So the word "missed" is incorrect here. The refusal of a clear goal (which i called the moment it happened) is downright highway robbery. Oustside of scheduling an overtime period for them to finish this game, an apology just wont work here. Devils fan with no investment btw.
😔
Refs have seemingly hated the Ducks most of the season. Have lost count of how many times I have seen an opponent player rip the helmet off of one of our players and not get called for what is supposedly supposed to be an automatic penalty and it happened again last night mid play where Stenlund ripped the helmet off of Gudas and didnt get a penalty. At least the other cases you could make the argument that it was in a scrum and post whistle so it was hard to spot
Buffalo / Winnipeg was slow good anticipation
3 and 0 yerstday 134 and 104 and 18 record in the season
The league just loves to screw us Ducks over.
For all those saying the "white" visible between the puck and goal line is stick tape… Silfverberg's blade is covered in black tape only.
Quacks got screwed
They said that it was inconclusive that the puck crossed the line which is BS it went in. I swear GB hates the Ducks screwed them in the draft and now this.
because was it his stick and the puck or just the puck? remember his stick was also right there and if you can't see that it definitely wasn't the stick its no goal. simple.
