Joffrey lupul scoring against Ottawa to secure the playoff birth was unreal
Well said
you kno wwhat, you're right. thanks. i remember those days. man were they ever dark
I traded nylander for Bedard on my fantasy team, I regret it.. 😂
It makes it all the more horrible that we waited that long to witness them choke repeatedly. K let’s also not forget we had to witness Boston beat on us have the league take away Kadri for two series because of it and then we blew a 3-1 lead to a team wouldn’t even make the playoffs in a normal year who happens to be our oldest rival.
So yes we waited through bad times but this is what we got after waiting. Literal torture because, these guys are actually great. They just choke
f the leafs
Favorite time was getting Eddie Belfour
Well said Johnny! Gotta cherish every game!
Some of us leaf fans remember not making the playoffs and only watching for colton orr fights
…these last 8yrs have been great
Went to a game way back on a tuesday. Shots were like 20-15 at the the end of the game. Both teams sucked, clearly no once care… except Grabovski. He was skating his ass off and did a pretty good job making chances. Can't even remember the score.
At the end of the game we banged on the boards and yelled at Reimer and Phaneuf came and smacked his stick on the glass where we were lol. It was all in good fun though.
Perfectly said, nailed it.
You only have to go to Toronto to understand why this team is the way it is. Petty, self absorbed, self righteousness that is rivalled only by people in Ottawa. The CBC building a few blocks away stands as a monument to this attitude. The Leafs make so much money whether they win or lose the owners don't actually care much about the on ice "product". But what can you expect from a real estate company.
Disagree. It’s cup or bust with these pandered millionaires. It’s what the fans want. The truth is nobody remembers 2nd place. In sports that’s the nature of the beast.
I agree that leaf fans (including myself here) take for granted the team we have right now….I still miss the 2000's era with Tucker Mogilny Roberts Sundin Domi….we were a rough team to play against…different league now I guess
I watched the Leafs in the sixties to the eighties. Back then they always made the playoffs and we're a good playoff team in that they pulled off upsets. They were being ruined by poor management and you watched because the players were good and you wanted to sopoirt them. The problem was they weren't quite good enough and there was no depth to the team beyond the opening roster. They pulled up Claire Alexander fir a few years and he had been a milkman. Boudreau played a few games but he was overweight. Thus team is fun to watch. It's the best Leaf team ever.
1967….🤣
I kinda enjoyed those meh years. Hockey was still checking and rough. Leafs currently are boring.
This is the best team the Leafs have had in over 20 (maybe 30?) years…that's something special, for real,….cups though….😬
No. You're absolutely wrong with this take. I'm 26 and have been a leafs fan all my life, and the mentality that nothing matters until playoffs is a mentality that I have been forced to take. I don't think anybody needs to be reminded that before last season's 2nd round exit, the leafs didn't win a series since 2006. Thats 16 seasons of disappointment, 16 seasons of irrelevance. I don't care how many assists Marner gets, goals Matthews gets or if Willie wins the Hart trophy, nothing matters until playoffs. I haven't felt sadness like the Boston game 7 collapse and I haven't felt happiness like the JT series winner last year. Nothing matters until playoffs. I loved Kessel Lupul Bozak just as much as I love Matthews Marner Reilly. But if I learned anything from the glorious 2019 Raptors season, it's that I'd trade them all for a championship.
Idk why my favourite goal from that era is Kessel coming in alone about to snipe it and his stick breaks and goes through lundquvist’s 5 hole.
I remember when Nikolai Kulemin truck-sticked Adam McQuaid that one time in playoffs. Now THAT was wild.
That's true, you might not see a comparable talent level for Toronto's forwards for decades.
🙄I am tired of hearing that Goaltending is the issue, it's really not, Woll has been solid and Sammy seems to be getting his game back, what is the issue however is the defensive coverage, especially in their own zone!!!
I subscribed because of this video. Well done.
2nd? lol, it's 4th!!
No matter what we gotta remember the times when 40 year old Rob Blake was our star player X_x
Leafs pain brings me joy.
Excellent video and I totally agree. I'm in one of my happiest times in over 40 years of being a fan.
"Is Cujo gonna bowl over a ref?"
It’s these 10 million+ contracts that are handcuffing teams. Those players aren’t allowing their gm’s enough money to build depth around them. If your making 10+ mil you better be carrying your team or at least held accountable for.
Being shitty and overachieving is much more gratifying that being great and underachieving. Thats why for me those 2 runs with Gilmour in 1993 and 1994 were special. Those teams on paper pale in comparison to todays leafs. The teams they were facing were favorites to crush them. Yet the refused to die. Down 3-1 to the star studded wings. Nope fuckem. St Louis? eat a dick. They were like that super cockroach you couldnt kill.
This current team has a ton of skill, but there are instances you see that show their true weakness .team toughness When Lilegren got hurt no one gave 2 shits to go even check on him. The moment I see that, I know that team is dead in the playoffs when the hitting starts
Grabo’s shootout spin goals were awesome, he even tried the Zegras flip before it was cool, his skill was super underrated, him and Antropov have a soft spot in my heart as a Leaf fan
so true. I think the Tkachuk and Gaudreau trade really made you wise.
Don't bring me hockey because I don't relate to Canada and or Israel and or what you believe and or what you Stands for. I don't give a shit about hockey and or the Canadian Citizenship. So nevermind bringing me this shit shows .
You can't stamd the leafs, why are you reporting?
