  1. Personally outside of the current trade situation and focusing on Willy. Here's how I see it for Brad…you can sign him long term but then u gotta worry about mitch for 2026. So you gotta look at who would benefit the club long term…willy or mitch. If it's Mitch, trade Willy now and save the cash. If it's Willy, sign him abd let mitch walk.

  2. make the trade but I will be pissed off if Toronto gave up Minten or Cowan or Robertson

  3. And we don't need Patrick Kane I like our 4 lines at the moment. Klingberg will be joining Matt Murray and Reavo going on waivers

  4. I mean personally I don’t even want Tanev in a deal right now. DONT get me wrong, he would make this team so much better, but maybe that’s a deadline issue. At the moment, Abruzzese, Klingberg, and a 3rd for Zadorov with a little retention would be great. I mean with Timmins on his return, and Benoit not playing bad, I wouldn’t mind a trade for only 1 defensemen.

    Reilly- Brodie
    McCabe – Zadorov
    Giordano – Timmins

And having lagesson or Benoit as scratches works great in my mind, at least to the deadline. And remember that Lily will return at some point in the future…

  5. Both Zadorov and Tanev are likely only worth a 2nd and MAYBE a depth piece from the AHL that can chew a few minutes for the Flames. If we are talking Hanifin, then yes, it would be a first plus a high prospect. Middle to lower pairing defensive d-Men aren’t traded for a high prospect and a 1st. That is just crazy talk.

  6. The leafs are NOT giving up Cowan, Minten or a first rd pick for these UFAs . Tanev is almost as old as Brodie and at this point he's in his declining years and Big Z would stabilize the bottom pairing defense. But I wouldn't say a top 4 dman. Also the longer this drags out, more big names could become available closer to the deadline for for the prices being talked about.

  7. McCabe trade has salary retained and multiple years remaining. Not the same at all

  8. Dude, love your show. Lose the beard, and for God's sake, put a plant, or chair back there. A hockey stick. Something. Anything!

  9. Can I ask how much cap space do they have? Can the Leafs afford both players? What about the players who may come off LTIR, doesn't that add to cap space use?

  10. sure Tanev and zadorov would be an upgrade but look at their salary. DO NOT OVERPAY FOR THEM!!!!!!

  11. Love your channel here in Nova Scotia I'd say frame your jerseys for a more professional look.

  12. The Leafs have zero leverage, there’s multiple teams looking at Cgy players. lol, give your head a shake.

  13. would then just the addition of Tanev what would just him cost and is his contract cheaper than Zedoroff Trouble is now with what I know that Nylander is looking for around 11 mill over 8 years which is max contract of which I think the leafs should take considering the way he has played so far this year there still might be a need to look at cap space because Marner is next and that will cost you to

  14. What this shows from other teams fans is

Leafs have some good players Tuey want but yet say at the same time Leafs have nothing to trade. Lolol.

    It’s ridiculous.

  15. Perhaps you could do a follow up video, essentially on this topic, praising/critiquing the Leafs defence core as it was constructed by the end of camp, and how they compare to the defence core of, say, Las Vegas 5 on 5,
    PK 1 & 2 etc..

    Reilly – Brodie
    McCabe – Klingberg
    Giordano – Lilijgren

I would definitely consider players in the mould of Tanev and Zadorov for this team, as well as others with good size and good defensive metrics. A lot of these defenders are capable of making a decent pass to our forwards. We don’t need players moulded like Klingberg as an example to be a so called “puckmover” if more defensively capable players can make the same pass…
We dont need the 2nd coming of Kabby making 150 foot stretch passes tape to tape. This forward group needs the opposite type of
Defence core that is committed to preventing goals and attacks and can make a decent pass, such as Brodie for example.

  16. The ONLY way the leafs make this a bigger deal is IF Klingburg is going to calgary & they retain on both zadorov & tanev .. or hannafin's included in the deal … in that case .. leafs ship them klingburg, abrezze, maybe mitten & the leafs top d prospect thats on the marlies right now .. maybe you throw in benoit or laggerson so the flames have 2 D for the main roster .. unless calgary has D-men in the minors ready to come up.

  17. Tanev and zadorov @ 50% retained. Is equal to klingbergs contract.

Nick aber and Ty volt and klingberg maybe a late pick for both and retention would be good. Imo

    Brodie -Reilly
    Tanev – zadorov
    Gio – McCabe
    Lag – Beniot
    Timmins. -lilly

I like that depth and options if people get hurt
lag and beniot have been playing good if needed trade a d man and pick up a spare forward l

  18. It's not a good idea to trade for players that will be healthy scratches on the Leafs. The only value in trade talks for these guys is to increase the price that other teams have to pay, so that when there's something that we can actually use those teams will be out of the running.

  19. We don't need any more rentals . Enough trading away our draft picks and prospects
    Develpoe your own system.

  20. Bro, your channel is so much better than that Nick Gosse(ip) Leafs Digest channel. Holy fuck, that dude is the most click baity gossiping moron on YouTube. He has ZERO clue about hockey. Thanks for being realistic.
