    Hey, the Finn GM got his sniper Finn and…nothing. Granted, previously, Laine had always had a #1 center, which the CBJ have no had in a looooong time. He needs to be surrounded by talent so that he can find open space. Jarmo has done a poor job of finding that talent in the decade+ that he has been at the helm. Young teams don't win and Boone Jenner cannot carry the leadership load. Werenski has also been awful since coming back from that shoulder injury. I would start by trading him. The hard part is that so many teams are up against the cap, the choices are limited.

    If CBJ were to retain 60%, I'd take him on the Avs. I'm confident that on a real contender, he would turn up his effort on both ends quite significantly. I wonder how likely it is that they would retain a significant portion of Laine's salary?

    As a Jets fan I don't feel bad for him, in Winnipeg he cried about not playing on the 1st line and talked shit about Bryan Little. Scheifele, Wheeler, Maurice, Tortorella had a problem with him now Vincent healthy scratched him. I like the guy but he brought this crap on himself.

    Hard to want to play for a bad team with zero playoff hope.

    Laine had better players to play with in Winnipeg. Laine wanted out of Winnipeg (Like most players) but he never expected to go to Columbus. Putting him at center is a big mistake also. He made his bed and now its time to sleep in it. He'll always be a minus player no matter how many goals he scores.

    This will pass just like every Laine story ever. His game is pure skill and that's why he is very inconsistant. The intensity, work rate, and defensive ability just isn't there to carry out his cold streaks, which is why he gets benched so often

    Hes not livinng up to his potential ! I belive hes still a good player just not a great player . Put him on the second line in new york with the islanders or the sharks mmaybe then he can turn his game around and live up to expectations and potential !

    Simply put I think his mentality just isn't right for a professional athlete. He has the potential, but he's wasting it. Also, playing for the failed experiment CBJ does not help.

    I remember when the Jets traded him, I told jackets fan you'll love him when he's on, but he'll drive you nuts when hes not.
    Everyone said #26 and #55 were the dressing room problems in Winnipeg. I'm starting to think Laine might have been the problem as well. He needs to be treated with kid gloves, and that had to effect the room big time I think.
    It's his 8th season, he needs to man up.

    Here’s the thing though you are assuming he wanted to play Center in the first place. I have reason to believe that he was ORDERED by management to become a center. This is classic Columbus and actually when he got there in the first place torts tried to do the same thing!! “Oh this guys 6”5 he HAS to be a power forward who can play both ends!!” I’m sorry but that’s just not Laine and it probably never will be. He is a pure offensive talent and whenever anyone try’s to stuff him on the PK or in CENTER like this instance it makes me want to eat drywall. Playing him on the second line is probably not helping his confidence much either. They just are not playing him correctly and when they do he is either not playing with the right people or the correct damn position. They have Fantili, Jenner, and Kent J, they should not have center depth issues. This is mismanagement of an asset and someone is probably gonna get fired for it.

    Anyone else remember the rookie hay days, MTS center, this guy and KFC, Big Buff running rampant. You could literally impromptu start any chant imaginable
    in MTS center. Those were the days. Went to a Jets game the other day was pretty tame. The old barn ain’t what it used to be.

    I think the real solution here is NFL style performance based comtracts. If youre not performing, youre not getting paid and you can get the boot for someone thats hungry to prove something.

    I would think that Kekalainen if anybody would be the guy who could help Laine become the player that he needs to be. If Yarmo cant help him then I would think his career is fading fast.

    Dude is coming back from a fucking concussion too… maybe let him play or give him some leeway? + Dads passing anniversary, probably best for him to take the day off. Some things are more important than hockey. (It's not difficult to do a little research before writing anything)

If one can't do quality content at all, then by doing clickbait shit you really aren't sacrificing anything though.

    i think there’s a management problem in columbus, so many different teams have been built under jarmo with no success, terrible coaching over the bast 4 years. they need a clean start with this young group

    Look at Daniel Sedin’s first 10 games back from a serious concussion. He looked lost on the ice. And even after he seemed to have his game together again, his shooting percentage suffered for years afterward. The league has never appreciated how much a concussion can impact fine motor function & hand-eye coordination.

    And then you add to that the reality that Columbus uses a middle-6 winger as their 1C and you have the makings of a perfect storm.

    I guess it's perfect that Pierre Luc DuBois & Patrick Laine got traded for each other. It's the Question Marks Surrounding Both. I wish that we could see at least One NHL Season with No Controversy About Either Or Both Of These Guys. Please tell me I'm right. Alternatively, let me know what you think, if you disagree

    One think Liane hasn't ever had with his career is playing in "the bright lights" of a major hockey market. I could see him puffing his chest out more in a New York Islanders or Florida Panthers jersey. Trying more. Working harder. Maybe I'm way off though.

    Columbus is the worst place for a mentally weak player like Laine could be. Both him and Johnny Hockey are offensive support players being looked at for leadership. Great 1B players but not 1A. With all the rest of the drama… recipe for disaster.

    Play Laine play as goalie, maybe that gives him insight on how to score. There's not much to lose at this point. Also, take away his gaming console as playing Fortnite doesn't help either.
