That was brutal. So many chances, can’t believe we only scored one. Those breakaway misses were BRUTAL. Anyhow, LFG Yotes, on to Wednesday!

Good looks on the double minor penalty too. Between that and the breakaways I mean damn. Eventually we’ll be the team to beat, just need a little more time and patience, I feel like we’re nearly there.

From what my eyes have seen, our biggest problem by far as a team is:
Defenseman cannot turn possession AT ALL by taking it down the ice which leads to:
A)stretch passes that go nowhere
B)defenseman loses puck via forecheck behind net
C)pass to a forward that isnt 8/9/63/17 who takes it and turns it over
Durzi, Valimaki and Moser can, but one is injured right now.
Team looks way out of it right now, forwards and defensemen are not playing complementary to eachother right now. Some of that is injuries but every team has that, cant use that as an excuse
Ive never realized how important McBain is to our bottom 6, they are borderline unplayable at times right now
I think Schmaltzy and Keller have to do a lot more. They looked absolutely invisible tonight apart from Schmaltz missing the net a bunch, and it feels like there’s just not enough effort 5v5.
Both only have half or less of their points even strength on the season at 7 apiece which is just unsustainable for a first line if this team is making a playoff push. They’re tied with McBain (granted, Blackhawks game) who’s been out for a while and is a 4th liner. The Coyotes can’t solely rely on the power play to win games.
The Maccelli-Bjugstad-Crouse line has easily been our best line this season and the only one consistently effective even strength. The top line needs to step it up.
Also this game made it apparent that this team desperately needs a pure sniper, we have some great playmakers but we don’t really have a designated finisher for skilled guys like Kells, Schmaltz, and Maccelli to make those passes to.
Just watched the game, I agree with most comments here. However, Ingram is giving away some cheap goals as well due to bad positioning. Not a big fan of him so far this season
