  1. Why don't they LTIR John Tavares use his money to stack defense and goalies, the bring JT back for playoffs. Who could stop us?

  2. The thing about the cap…yeah next year it seems like a big hit. But as the years move on and the cap moves up (as it should) then the percentage of the cap decreases. It won't 12.6% of the cap for the remainder of the contract. With the last few years of cap stagnancy the contracts haven't looked great, but had the cap been able to move up as it should I don't think people would be complaining so much about the cap hit of any star player as the percentage of the cap itself would have decreased over time and a team would have had extra money for other contracts.

  3. If I'm William Nylander I don't settle for anything less than 13 million. The Maple Leafs are rich.

  4. Why should he take less than Marner. He has been more valuable than Marner over the last four years. What makes Mitch special?

  5. given the connotation of that number I highly doubt they would go for that…….

  6. 88 million is not a fantasy. It also isn't a fantasy that Toronto will be fair to middling the next decade.
