Hell no! That would be an idiotic move. Leafs need that cap space. Campbell proved he can be number one. Bring up Hutch for back up duties.
Here's the thing about Andersen: He's part of the Leafs fraternity. I have seen a bunch of pictures of him with Matthews on private Jets. I heard Matts went out to Denmark in 2018 just ahead of the 2018 season. Freddy lived at Matts' house in AZ during the initial lockdown. Freddy also went to Augusta on the Golf trip with Muzz and Willy. Most recently, Freddy was with Matts and Bieber at the UFC. These guys want to be around each other, and the organization treats them better than any other organization. Better accommodations, facilities, transport, Toronto has the money for the best everything. The issue for the players has always been either a lack of organizational structure, coach, and most importantly – how the players want to get paid. Remember when Burkie was trying to sign Brad Richards, and he refused to front load the contract? Idiot. Now their contracts are lockout-proof, it's a player friendly environment, they have stars, they have competent management, they have everything they need to succeed. I know they haven't had success yet, and I wont make excuses for that. This is a place that players can call home though. That's why a Freddy contract is on the table.

Love adam to death but he's wrong. To sign Ulmark for that numbrr he'd have to start. If you spend $5million for a goalie he's an full time starter and he must be better than average. If not its a bad contract. You don't give somebody $5million to be the next Martin Jones. Especially if you're thin on cap space.

I do not fallow the leaf so maybe I’m way out of context. But 2 to 4M for Freddy Andersen sounds such like a discount to me. He had an injury this year and sucked but idk he played great in his time with the leaf. Unless you want Campbell to be your starter but then it’s kind of a risk.

Sounds like the Toronto Maple police management doesn't want to rectify the problem the goaltending problem. Freddy Anderson lets too many soft goals and Jack Campbell has improved anything. It sounds like the Toronto Maple Leafs management wants to get lost in the first round again of the playoffs they're not even correcting the problem we need a bona fide number one goalie. It sounds like we're going to have another rerun of this year losing that losing in the playoffs too many soft goals the team is not tough enough they don't even body check or take their man they need to check in line they're too soft on their opponents.
