1. Disgusting how Sacramento was cheated out of a ring by the refs purely because of being a small market team.

  2. The Kings weren't just the best team that year, they were also the most fun to watch.

It actually benefitted the Lakers having another squad that they could joust with.

Rivalry can spur ratings, BUT having it predictable or one-sided would be a downer.

In retrospect, I think they knew it was a mistake.

  3. Kings coming for their redemption this year. No 🧢, Lakers vs Kings 2023 WCF’ Book It 💪🏼

  4. Even Shaq admitted the Lakers should've won only the first 2 Championships the Kings had their number! The League wonders why fans always under suspicion of them!

  5. This turned a lot of people off on basketball in Sacramento I was done watching the NBA for years I still don’t follow basketball like I use to

  6. As a midwestern Bulls fan, I absolutely loved that Kings team. How could anyone not love watching that team play basketball? It was clearly fixed

  7. How about the newest game with the Lakers in Warriors warriors? Getting 39 penalise and lakers only having eight. Warriors not allowed to play defense. So it's still happening?

  8. This girl is a moron. "Dubious credibility"… She believes all the stuff that incriminates himself but says Tim Donaghy has dubious credibility when he blows the whistle on anything else. People like her are the reason stuff like this happens. Because they're too stupid to think about the big picture. I'm a Lakers fan and I was furious watching that game live. Who wants to see their team handed a win by the officials? The Kings won that series as far as I'm concerned and if you can't see that it was rigged then you're either lying to yourself or just plain stupid.

  9. Not Surprising David Stern is involved somehow he let Klay Bennet steal my Supersonics and move to OKC dude has no morals.

  10. Now, the Sacramento Kings have to suffer even more when they watched another ex-Kings player or coach win an NBA title since 2002 in Michael Malone.

  11. 2:51 27 free throw attempts in the 4th quarter of game 6 in the 2002 WCF is all the proof you need to know that the game was 100% rigged. Not even during the hack a Shaq days has a team ever shot 27 free throws in a single quarter. If you extrapolate that out it would equate to 108 free throws in a 4-quarter game. The easiest way for a ref to give a team points is to put them at the free throw line period and not only did it give LA free points, but it also fouled out Vlade and Scott Pollard who were best at defending Shaq and the refs knew that. Lawrence Funderburke had zero chance of slowing Shaq down.

  12. Well, let's say NBA wanted their STARS to be in NBA Finals. They did the same thing to Milwaukee the year prior against Iverson's 76'ers…

  13. Thunder vs Heat Finals was another ridiculous match. The Heat had their moments but just struggled against the Thunder's youth and explosiveness and a KD coming into his own. The world was surprised to see the Heat superteam look like they did against a bunch of kids. And that's when the horrific, one way officiating started leading to a Heat rally and Thunder collapse that there were no signs of before bad calls completely destroyed the Thunder's momentum. I can't say for sure that OKC woulda definitely won the series had the calls been better but I think they had a very solid shot. The problem is so many people were/are LeBron stans and Miami bandwagon fans so it just didn't get called out at any scale.

But the NBA has been tryna give LBJ every possible chance for many years. Magic and Larry saved/revitalized the NBA and then MJ and his Bulls team elevated the NBA beyond any heights it had ever known. But after he retired they lost that and needed someone new to fill that void and who better than the teen wonder with freakishly good genetics that idolizes MJ? Lets make em the hometown hero, the franchise player, the maker of Cinderella stories and team turnarounds, the Ohio savior, and when that doesn't work lets have em farm rings bouncing from superteam to superteam from coast to coast to try and get him to that next level cause while there may never actually be another Mike we gotta get the world thinking there is. So ya get the issues with the OKC matchup, the Spurs run, the 2016 match, etc.

But people also gotta remember that a game/series doesn't have to be straight up rigged to favor one side, these refs have biases they may not even realize rather they want to or not and stories like the one the NBA has tried to tell with LBJ, the Showtime Lakers, etc, have an impact on officials which is why having a secondary layer of accountability and the ability to review calls is sooo important.

  14. In 2002, Kings had better record than Lakers, took season series from them, were supremely confident going into the WCF, had L.A. on the ropes going into the championship rounds of the fourth quarter, were stepping in for the stunning KO…and then had that game absolutely stolen from them. She forgets to mention Donaghy says Bavetta used to brag he was the NBA's "go-to guy" when the league needed a particular outcome. Integrity of the game. What a bitter, nasty joke.

  15. Kings shot more free-throws than the lakers don't believe the hype after the lakers won game 1 on the road nba didn't want another sweep the lakers are just as much victims as the kings series was rigged to go 7 not rigged to go the lakers way

  16. All you kings fans need to get over it. It been 21 years since it happened and your still crying about it get a life 😂wether it was rigged or not y’all would of lost either way you had your chance to win game 7 but lost then had the rest of the years to win but still couldn’t get it done lakers were just the better team at the time

  17. Shaq said that the 99 Spurs Championship should have a * since it was a lockout season. In truth this championship is the one that should have the * next to it.

  18. I wonder what would happen if R.Horry missed the last second winner in game 4 and Kings went up 3-1..NBA would have to extend the series and rigg next 2 games..

  19. All i know is that David Stern has done some shifty stuff for the advancement of the league, i wouldnt be surprised if this was another one of those plans.
