He literally Dale Weise again. We gave both 3 more years and 3x per year more than anyone else was willing to do.

I’ve read this like 10 times and don’t understand what he’s saying (granted I was unable to watch the game last night). Is he saying goons are bad cause they don’t “protect your guys” like they are supposed to?

I’ll never understand the argument that dedicated enforcers make the game safer because players think twice before doing something dangerous or dirty.
Almost every single one of the most dangerous, reprehensible plays I’ve seen in hockey comes from the era when every team carried at least one enforcer. 80% of the time, the dirty play is being made by the enforcer himself. It’s always the “you didn’t play the game!” crowd who claims that enforcers make the game safer, but I’ve yet to see an argument beyond “Trust me bro, I played hockey.” If you want to tell me that hockey is safer with more Ryan Hollwegs and Colton Orrs in the league, I’m gonna need more than a “trust me.”
I wish they’d be honest and just admit that they want to keep enforcers in the game because they desperately need to see someone get beat to a bloody pulp anytime they chirp the bench or give the goalie a snowshower.

Saying he delivers a”bone-crushing hit” is not exactly accurate. Hathaway(I think that’s who it was) is skating at Trouba to deliver hit. Trouba stands his ground and takes it which knocks Hathaway down. Also Trouba was the one who started the confrontation with Deslaurier.

Bill matz spent all of his post game pod ranting about this lol

4 years for this useless turd. We can’t find a way to get Frost in the lineup but ND never leaves it. What a disgrace.
