GAUDREAU & LAINE BANQUETTE!

#7onzecechockey

  1. The Jackets were surprisingly terrible last year. They are picking up where they left off. Do they hate their coach or something? That's my impression. They don't want to play hard for a coach that they don't like.

  2. Laine had it made in Winnipeg, he was scoring at a hall of fame pace. But he couldn't stand the city and informed the Jets he would not re-sign with them. He was scoring at such a torrid pace we all knew he would receive a qualifying offer from somewhere as a restricted free agent. He is happier in Columbus, but he won't be making the hall of fame or scoring again like he was in The 'Peg. Unless Columbus finds a couple superstars to help him out like in Winnipeg.

  3. Laine the last two seasons is pretty much a point per game. What are you smoking. Sure he didn't pass 30 goals but he had 26 goals in 56 games and 22 goals in 55 games. Don't misslead the viewer to fit your narrative. His points per game have gone up since he's joined Columbus.

  4. The jackets are better at drafting prospects then trading for or signing "superstars" or "stars" 😂😂😂

  5. What is this boomer waffling on about, neither of these guys chose the money laine took more of a prove it bridge deal and gaudreau declined 10.5 mil from Calgary.

  6. Neither of them left over money. Calgary was willing to pay up, but Gaudreau wanted out of Canada and to play in the east. Winnipeg would have happily paid Laine 8 figures had he been able to sustain his early play, but the situation became bad for him. Whether it was the team's structure, personality clash with certain teammates, or the inability of the team to find him quality linemates, it got to a point where no amount of money would have convinced him to stay, and even if you did overpay him, he'd have continued struggling

  7. I guess it's easier to say that these two players are chasing money than to do some real hockey analysis. This guy is a joke.

  8. Gadreau wasn’t chasing money he could have got paid in Calgary he wanted out of a frozen wasteland

  9. I always thought Laine hype vs reality didn’t match. Happy that he’s not doing it to the Jets. GJG

  10. We are in a rebuild here in Columbus. we are introducing all of our young draft picks in. patty and johnny came in at a time where we are not going to win a lot of games. Should not be any panic here for a couple of years.

  11. The Toronto Maple Leaf's gave Fee Fee Tavares a bunch of loot and he certainly has not hold up his end of that bargain.

  12. The main constant here for the losing is the management. They just suck at putting winning teams together, finding #1 centers, and developing top prospects. They favor soft Euros over slot-type players (Voronkov is the lone exception), having a vision for an identity and getting players to match it, and drafting anything other than BPA, third liners, or wild-goose chases. They rely on hope for their main strategy. For an overall grade, I would give Jarmo a C- only because he is able to pull off, or be gifted, random good deals. Is Gaudreau a good deal other than the name, though. Something mental is up with that kid. He looks genuinely depressed. He reminds me of Travis Hafner after he got married or Chris Davis once he started taking meds (ADHD I believe). Stars come to the CBJ to retire early.
