At the end of the 1st period Edmonton had scored twice. Ovi took a penalty at the end of the 1st. Oilers had outshot Washington 21 to 6 with 8 hits to 12, 12 faceoffs won to 4, 4 giveaways each, 2 takeaways for the Oilers and the Oilers had ZERO blocked shots (on 6 SOG by Washington) vs 6 by Washington (again on 21 shots). The Nuge goal was one of patience for him to bat the puck out of the air into the net (WITHOUT high sticking). With 11:32 left in the game it was 5-0 with the Oilers getting 3 consecutive Power Play Goals (Leon with 2). Team is clicking as is the PP (and the PK, Capitals are 0/4 on the PP so far). When the game ended the Oilers won 5-0 with ZERO scoring in the 3rd period (though the Oilers gave up 2 more penalties, the PK kept the sheet clean). Great to get the win wish it could have been more out of the 4. We aren't catching ground on LA. Take care all.

  2. well-deserved, Patrick – cg 🙂
    edit:
Oh, sucks, you couldn't watch it – was a really good game from the oilers first 40min, good defence and good solid plays.
And very sorry to hear about your father, and great, that your mom beat the cancer.

  3. Oilers still need that grit and snarl and make trades it's going to be like Holland and Jef Jackson to fk up this season

  4. They played nearly 60 minutes of disciplined hockey. When they didn't, they got lucky and didn't pay for the lapse. Like Ekholm's stupid cross checking penalty. Still, if they continue playing with discipline, they'll win more than they lose.

  5. Thanks for the great update Patrick. I'm so glad Skinner got a shut out. I can't imagine what must be going on in that guys head. I bet on Washington and lost, never expected Oil to win this one.

  6. Happy for the 5-0 Shoutout Win from STUEY & it's nice that we played a 60 Min Game. Also Trade Speculations seems low for Perry or Mrazek to get dealed elsewhere but if there's something going on from the management then will see where thing go. Let's Celebrate this W Patrick

  7. Still looking for that top D man and unloading Cambell’s contract! Seems like Chicago is willing to deal, but which teams have the cap room? Andy was my favourite goalie for the oilers prayers for Andy!

  8. I said screw it and turned it on at work and watched the second and 3rd period. Worth it, I'm a mechanic by the way so I still got work done

  9. I liked Nuge with McDavid today. Leave these lines together for a few games and find some consistency and chemistry.

  10. I did get to watch and this looked like the team we thought we were getting this season.

  11. I streamed on my phone while out and about lol I was walking in crappy tire and few other stores watching while shopping lol

  12. I watched the third period and they played really good in that. I do know that the fourth goal was a brown special apparently. He came up with the play that Draisaitl scored it on. He used to do it down in the minors apparently.

Also, much love and thoughts and prayers to moog and his family. 💙🧡💙🧡

  13. I'm sorry about your father, Patrick. Also wanted to say that I watch your videos after every game and you do a stellar job. Also don't worry at all about the mic gain issue. It's such an insignificant thing. Cheers, bro. 🍻

  14. Maybe your cat changed the settings. We have cats. They're subtle and, when you're not looking, do their own thing. Sabotage! You didn't turn on the TV so your cat could watch the game and that upset he/she and pushed he/she over the red line. Game misconduct for the cat. You can't see replays of games? That's how I saw the game. Oilers good all over the ice. By far their best game so far. Reminded me of last year; excellent power play with the addition of the kind of defense they need to win. No easy chances for Washington. Almost thought I was watching a different team. I do like Tom Wilson. He's big, crazy, and hits people very hard. He doesn't wear that 'A' on his uniform for nothing. Don't think they'd trade him to us. Be a nice fit though. Add a little craziness. Keep the opposition honest. Isn't Corey Perry something like 39 years old? Maybe he's going to retire.

  15. Nice to wake up to a win. Hopefully this trend will continue. Andy Moog was great to watch and he will fight this terrible disease . The oilers have a chance to make the playoffs as long as their games to play. I will watch until the end.
