Gotta stop playing these 2 together. Clearly something needs to give..SHELDON

  2. Devonw90

They have not played well together. Knies has joined them and been the best player on the line it seems. Time to split up the not so dynamic duo?

  3. KidMajala

6 games is completely unacceptable. Split them up. Marner needs a look with a different line until he finds it

  4. LairdOftheNorth

Maybe Matthew’s shouldn’t have gotten the highest contract in history.

I’d say put marner with tavares but that line has been too solid to mess with.

  6. Asshat GM (Dubas) who gave Marner 11M to disappear in the playoffs is what cost this team prime years and cap space during the last 3-4 years.

Idc what anyone says, Kyle deserved to be fired and Marner is proof of why

  7. BCharmer

C’mon Sheldon, that’s 30% of their games so far. Split them up.

I’d like to see Marner on the third line with Domi and Robertson. But the obvious play would be Nylander and Marner swapping.

Marner can hardily stay on his skates, is small and has been figured out, especially come playoff time. Since he follows his pal 34, you can bet he will command 12.5M on his next deal which is a 1.6M raise like his pal 34. Time to seriously ask yourself…Nylander at 10.5M or Marner at 12.5M? It’s Willy every single time. Trade Marner.

Not necessarily worried about it but it would be nice for the boys to wake up a little bit. It’s been an odd start to the season across the board for us. Matthews numbers are oddly inflated with some big blowup games. Mitch’s struggles/mediocrity is well documented obviously. Regardless, I vowed to only half care about the regular season so unless we miss the playoffs, I’ll do my best to not sweat these discussions.

Show up in May and I won’t give a shit!

I really wish this team would do something we could be proud of. Anything.

Do what Babcock did…put Marner on the 4th line with Kampf, make that the shutdown line

  12. pikachuda6

They really need to trade Marner for a stud No 1 D.

  13. CanadianODST2

yet they’re still both above a ppg

Matthews is on pace for 90 points even with this, Marner is on for 86.

What I haven’t got since last playoffs is every trade.talk always includes Nylander and not Marner.
MM has been a little too soft and out of it since then. Yes he lives in a nice neighborhood in Etobicoke, yes he has a nice wife and dog but this is your story, you’re legacy. Is it a take the money and run or I want a cup?
One legacy will live forever in TO.

it’s wild that two guys making over $11m are holding back the rookie on that line hahaha.

I’m not too worried about Matthews but I think Marner is severely exposed. the guy just doesn’t produce on his own and unless he has an elite guy like Matthews or JT cooking on his line he doesn’t really do anything to elevate it.

Not making the playoffs this season. MLSE Raising ticket prices next season. Tradition continues….

Marner is the guy everyone hates and probably the cancer in the room. Trade him or let him walk I don’t care, but nylander over him all day.

  18. ShinyVuIpix

    Knies – Matthews – Nylander
    / Bertuzzi – Tavares – Marner

    Do it you fucking coward.

  19. TayOs1998

Guys Marner has a NMC so we can’t trade him unless he actually agrees

  20. Drhart905

A third of the games. That’s not good, Marner

If anyone saw the pregame and saw how tired Matthews looked in his locker, you knew he had a bender and was in for a shit game.
