Nobody is gonna take Klingberg, even if the Leafs eat all of his salary, hes garbage. Hed make a better winger than a d-man.
Strange that Dubas is not a point of discussion. Leafs still suffer from 4 oversized contracts, what to do about Nylander signing, defense woes, mediocre goaltending, all coming out of Dubas signings and decisions.
How would Dubas have gotten O'Reilly to stay lol? O'Reilly didnt want to play in Canada let alone for the Leafs. It's not a GM issue, its a city, tax, and media coverage issue with O'Reilly and other players not wanting to sign long term in Toronto.

I cared about the Dubas stuff back in the summer. But now I’m just concerned about how they’ve looked on ice and how Mitch has looked not himself.

the best thing to do is sit Marner in the press box for 2 or 3 games, he will start playing better or ask for a trade.thats how you get him to waive his no move cause,trust me he will not like sitting in the press box

shanahan has to go. o reilly knew the culture here was too woke- they will never win anything- marner has to go, get 2 solid d men, need a decent goalie. am needs to earn his paycheck. soft forwards as well- what a mess. all the guys they got at the deadline they shoulve kept- traded mm for a #1 dman or a #2 dman and good goalie.

Dubas and his bumboy Spezza and not warmly thought of. He derailed the Shanaplan, drained the teams farm and prospects and draft picks, made horrendous trades, screwed the team salary structure, built a soft "Turn the other cheek" team, Refused to recognize and fix a God awful defence, Made terrible Free agent signings, experimented with a Sault Ste, Marie Greyhound employment agency.
Volume is too low.
Take Matthews salary away and get defense and goaltending. For what Matthews is making, he should be scoring at least 2 goals a game.
It's astounding that we keep talking about how to get Matthews going. He is paid like a generational superstar, but the on-ice result is 2-games-on, 2-games-off…. 1-game-on, 3-games-off. This team has changed the coach, the GM and the supporting cast on the ice 4.5 times… same mid-team. The common denominators are the top-dawgs – it's personality-type, not skill-set. Zero F-U energy in this core.
Matthews and Vladdy. TO fans will go their graves with these guys before saying they just don't have the intangible leadership qualities nor big enough game to go all the way.
