Idk I think that's about right…. if you didn't need possession to stop the play then goalies would be "accidentally" losing equipment all the time to attempt to stop the play that's not going their way. My vote is the rule is good, unless it's a helmet and if a goalie purposely loses a helmet they should get a big penalty and maybe a fine. To also stop a goalie from "accidentally" losing a helmet when things aren't going their way

This is like when the ref drops the puck when you are a goalie drinking water with your helmet glove and blocker off as goalies you get no time to hydrate so the least you can do is wait for them
Ok so a players loses his glove we should stop play? Im all for safety but it would get abused. Only if the goalies helmet comes off play is immediately stopped. That makes sense.

You watch goalie interference will go away too. forwards are going to be allowed to hit goalies as long as they sent touching him while the puck is crossing the goal line
I think this rule should get changed, if the equipment falls off the goalie can blow the play dead and give the goalie a delay of game minor. If the opponent takes the equipment off they get the minor. Give goaltenders a fighting chance. Treat it as if the net was removed from the moorings. If the goalie doesn't wave the play dead he can play on to avoid the penalty.
Such a BS rule especially concerning the safety of players!🤬 With that, This So reminds me of the movie the Comebacks when coach Lambeau catches the kids fastball with his bare hand and it stays embedded while the hand swells over it!!😝🤣 Hey, I’m a Ranger fan! He's lucky his quick mind stopped his quick hand from catching that quick shot because his career would've been even more quickly ended.
