This risk this organization takes for Jack Campbell is astounding. If he bombs out… gives up 3 goals in one period & has to be pulled… Edmonton will be the laughing stock of the league. They are seriously risking their reputation as a competent team for this guy. No way Connor can play on a team that’s a league punchline.

It's possible there was a trade cooking with Edmonton and Corey Perry and Perry refused to abide by the trade therefore refused to sign off on the trade and or report to Edmonton. As a result Chicago released him in breach of his player agreement. Makes sense if Chicago always new Perry never wanted to play in Edmonton and Chicago forced Perry's hand to give Chicago the opportunity to get out of Perry's contract. Details will come out eventually.

What does “bounce back” even mean anyway??. If you’re playing ability falls off a cliff every 6 months then you aren’t bouncing back. Hitting a bottom & returning back & maintaining good play is bouncing back. His bounce back is just a lull before his next crash.

I Really Really Do hope the Oilers can make the playoffs. I just don't think people not on the team can use "positive vibes" to make that happen anymore then they can use that to stop forest fires. Recalling Campbell seems likely to do far more harm then good. But hey, maybe I'm Wrong about that, and maybe he's now just phenomenal.
