La règle 79 considère une passe de main comme une main « OUVERTE » ou une main sur la glace. 2 mains sur le bâton et le frapper avec votre avant-bras est apparemment une passe de main à ces arbitres.

The refs ruled against the Rangers? How unusual… /s

I just also looked up this rule for the same exact reason. Very confused how that possibly could have been a hand pass.

Do you not use your elbow like a hand? If you haven’t, evolve already, you’re behind. NHL officiating has, clearly. /s

We recently had a ref in our beer league waive off a goal that hit our player in the face. He claimed he directed it in and that it was the same thing as if he directed the puck in depth his hand.
He came in our locker room the next week and apologized for fucking up the call so badly, so we got that going for us, which is nice.

My family and I got home from dinner and turned the game on the second Joe was explaining that it was a hand pass and all 3 of us said at the same time « but it hit his elbow, that’s an elbow pass »

Guys….. it was clearly a hand pass

How is this even debated “ has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to gain an advantage and subsequently possession” is pretty cut and dry

Who needs rules. Especially rules that are written and easily accesible. This is why the NHL is such a joke.

I looked up the same thing and found the same thing because i was curious as well. But after seeing it from a second angle it looked like he definitely did take his hand off the stick and redirect it with an open palm
