It’s brutal reading the sentence « It’s more like they have two top-line forwards, nine middle-sixers and two bottom-liners » and knowing that we have nobody (aside from Dach of course) in our system that is likely to fix this situation. The rebuild is going to take a long, long time.
Edit: it’s also extremely generous to describe Suzuki and Caufield as top-line forwards, at least in terms of production. They currently sit tied for 70th in scoring. You can make a convincing argument that we actually have no top-line forwards at all.

– Young, under 25, you can expect some growth from these players, this is just roster players, doesn’t include many of the young promising prospects we have in the system who may be making the jump as early as this end of season;

On better teams with scoring depth, Suzuki and Caufield would be putting up gaudy numbers. Unfortunately for them, it’s way too easy for opponents to gameplan against them. “Key in on defending 14 and 22 and we will take our chances with everyone else”… we have way too many guys throughout our lineup that make good money and simply aren’t credible threats to score (looking at you Anderson, Gallagher,and Dvorak).
