If he stays his whole career? Probably #1, unless Hughes ends up having a better career.

In terms of skaters, he is currently 19th overall in scoring with a shot of becoming top 12 in Canucks all time scoring if he can maintain around a PPG until the end of the season-not unreasonable.
It depends if we re-sign him by the end of the year. Another 4 year extension with 80+ points every year would put him over 700 points which is good for top 5 in scoring behind Canuck legends like Linden, Naslund, Daniel and Henrik Sedin.
If he plays here until retirement, he will easily surpass the Sedins in scoring. So he has a great chance of becoming one of the best players to wear a Canucks jersey.
Of course, there is one other person who could be the all-time best Canuck when all is said and done, even better than Pettersson himself:
Hughes.
Based on the last couple weeks it will be somewhere between Mason Raymond and Russ Courtnall.

my best bet is between 1-3 on every list by the end of his career.
it’ll be arguable for people between Hughes, petey and bure as the best players to wear the jersey.
my guess for myself will be 1, most will probably have him at 2 behind Hughes when he brings us home a cup, and the oldies will always say « but did you see bure live »
If he can win the cup here him and Hughes will be the greatest of all time.

He sucks right now though. If second assists weren’t a thing and empty net goals didn’t count it would be really bad. I think as long as he keeps the main spot on the pp he will likely keep close to a ppg on the backs of other players.
It’s kinda crazy how Hughes and Petterson might end up being the 2 best Canucks of all time (if they stay here their whole careers)

If he leads the team and wins a cup, sure, also depends on how Quinn plays in that playoffs

Points-wise, easily top. But if you’re asking for subjective greatness, ultimately he’s gonna have to cement his legacy in the playoffs and these cold spells better not become a habit.
You would hope he is at least top 5 with Bure, Sedins, and Hughes. Pushing Linden to 6. He could be #1 all time, but quite frankly Hughes might be tracking better for that spot.

It depends on what he does here. Mogilny was incredible, but the team floundered and they never accomplished anything.

In terms of raw talent and potential, one tier below Bure.
About the same tier as the Sedins and Luongo. Potentially even higher if he manages more individual awards, a Cup or a higher PPG clip.
One tier above Naslund, Bertuzzi, Linden, Smyl.
Has potential to be greatest Nuck of all time. Could have a 1400 point career if health is on his side. But obviously would need to stay here and play on some good teams. Quinn also has potential to take the crown.
Are we trading for Cal?
Below the sedins, bure, naslund, hughes, luongo and maybe miller.
Lower than Miller and Hughes. Petey is overrated and a streaky player.
