Top 6 in speed bursts, not there in points though 🙁

Others have said it, but he needs to simplify his game a lot and go back to his bread and butter north-south play. Charge the net and throw some pucks at the goalie and good things will happen. Too much thinking and trying to be an east-west player (in response to MSL’s attempts to make him more well-rounded) imo.

I don’t care what anyone says, BJA is an absolute beast but he’s incredibly one dimensional, and it’s very clear that MSL has him trying to play a well rounded game. This may be my first real gripe with MSLs coaching approach.

At a certain point, as a coach I would imagine it’s your job to not only tailor your players to your strategy, but tailor your strategy to your players as well. There has to be a happy medium here.

I feel like it’s always the same with our players that don’t pan out. We like to take a chance on players that are good in one and only one dimension of the play, and hope the rest will follow… Anderson, Drouin, Hoffman, etc. Hey, mix all those together and we might have a good player
