If you would have told me 10 years ago that Patrick Kane would one day be a Red Wing, I would have gotten a restraining order against you. What a surreal day.

Well, welcome to Detroit! Engage hype thrusters

  2. LETS GO

    (Chelsea Dagger still fucking sucks)

  3. Emily Kaplan “The reason for the delay in announcement was that Kane had to pass his physical. Which he did.

No date circled on the calendar for his debut. However long it takes for him to acclimate. With Red Wings playing Weds, Thurs, Sat wouldn’t be surprised if it’s next week.”

I’m totally getting a Kane jersey just to rub it into the face of filthy Blackhawks fans everywhere. Imagine. Imagine actually raising your child to support that franchise of chode eaters. Not like our clean and family friendly Red Wings.

The Detroit Red Wings are officially back.

  7. Shartman88

This is neat. Hope he kills it. Once a foe and now I love him. Funny how that works

  8. Well, i don’t mind the contract.

I just mind the player, though if he isn’t washed then obviously he should be a solid contributor moving forward the rest of the season.

I believe this means Detroit can attract free agents again. Holland and Babcock weren’t helping for sure.

I think a one year contract is the right move. Not many/any NHL players have done well after that surgery…..Hope he’s the exception to the rule, tho

If you would have told me at the 2022 draft…

“Hey, so ya know how the Senators just made that big trade for DeBrincat? What if I told you that the Wings might get really close to the playoffs, but get their ass handed to them by Ottawa? Well because of that we are gonna trade Bert and Hronek away. But don’t worry, Yzerman is gonna fleece the Senators for DeBrincat.

    BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE!

DeBrincat is gonna start the season on like a 130 point pace and will show his buddy Patrick Kane how great it is to play here. Yep, we’re gonna sign Patrick Kane. And this is gonna happen in the same year that we signed Sprong who is the only player in Wings history to wear 88.”

…I wouldn’t have believed you. But here we are.

Red Wings legend Patrick Kane is gonna roll off the tongue real nice when Chicago fans are within earshot.

Can’t wait to buy a Kane jersey with a winged wheel on it.

I remember when the Wings picked up Chelios and thought « what a shit signing. » Granted, these are vastly different circumstances, but…

  15. spoonyfork

I hope this isn’t a Stephen Weiss kinda thing.

  16. ennuiinmotion

I’m all for this, but just for a second can I point out how insane it is to get paid $2.75 million for a job you may not even be able to physically do. What a world some rich guys live in.

  17. sebesta2

Sorry if this was answered elsewhere, but anyone put out a realistic timeline to crack the lineup?

  18. I’ve always hated him

    that being said..

    Welcome to the team Showtime

  19. Shizweak420

was really hoping sprong would keep 88 so kane would take 91, retire a red wing, and then we could finally put #91 red wing legend patty kane in the rafters
