I trust the Oilers more than the Blues or Kraken, for whatever that's worth.
Upward climb for sure but they got momentum going right now.
As long as there isnt too many back to backs in the near future they should be able to keep it going for a while.

As a Realist, this Oilers team is not a good team. Why do I say that? Because it is what they have proven with their play so far. On any night, one or more of their star players are capable of willing the team to a victory, despite how they play as a team. That's right, Despite how they play as a team. Their team game is Weak. Which is why they are not a good team. A good team would have shown up, each and every night, from the start of the season on, ready to play, ready to compete, with their work boots and hard hats on…which is the Opposite of what this Oilers team has done. Their Leadership, did NOT lead at the beginning of the season. I don't get overly excited by a couple of wins, not after the team has dug such a big hole for themselves. At this point, all playing decently now does, is set them up for double failure later – miss the playoffs, and get a lousy draft pick (or trade it , to try to make the playoffs). I'd rather the team took a long hard look at themselves, and dug in and started to legit fix the things that are wrong with this organization, before it is too late!

Simple math, on average, you probably need to be in the 95 point range to get into the playoffs as a wildcard team. The Oilers would need to go 40-22 the rest of the way. Not impossible, if they play to their ability. It starts tomorrow, with Vegas.
Still the same team, maybe even worse than the last few years. Not good enough to win it all again.

Somethings to keep a eye on, Detroit has 3 goaltenders under contract. James Reimer who has already been mentioned in some circles but they also have Alex Lyon who helped carry Florida last year when Bobrovsky was hurt. Also they have Ville Husso who they signed last summer from St Louis. Also Spencer Knight has return to play in the minors with Charlotte so the Oilers should be monitoring his progress.
I hear Corey Perry is available, just keeps McDavids mom away.
Tonight’s game is really about Pietrangelo payback. And Vinny has to be the one delivering the payback. Kane is scoring too much to play that role. He can’t get tossed. Need to play 11-7 expecting Vinny to get tossed making it 11-6. Payback has to be so severe he gets tossed. Breaking his nose with his fist isn’t adequate for that slash to Leon.
