So weird as an old fuddy duddy Wings fan & remembering the angst many felt as Yzerman stumbled slightly at the onset of his professional playing career with a physical challenge that caused him to enter that hypobolic chamber gizmo thingie; (I believe that was the technical term for it)…so perhaps, too, that may have played a miniscule part in the signing. As far as Mr. Y, from then to now, a legend in hockey, & now a proven GM.

Thank God. Not saying that he's not a great player in his own right but he didn't work on the Rangers. Show time was more like no time. Idk if his time is done or if the chemistry just wasn't right but either way we need the cap space a lot more than what he was giving us on the ice. I wish we could have held onto Tarasenko. That guy was a workhorse every minute he was on the ice for us. I know people will think I'm crazy for saying this too but I think we demote Kakko. He's been a consistent underperformer and I'm sick of waiting. I think it's time for him to go down a rung on the ladder and start proving he wants to play in the NHL. I say we bring Othmann up and give the kid a shot.

Heard a ton of hype with this guy last year and he was awful in New York. Ruined the team chemistry after basically forcing his way on the team. Let him be broken down in Detroit. Dude is washed up.
