  1. There has to be rules, there is a reason that it is called "a penalty shot". "ONE SHOT" I believe with no rebound shots. It is supposed to be a one on one contest between the Goalie and the Shooter. If the goalie makes the save on the first shot, the contest over. No second shots, no redos. This was clearly a second shot, and the goalie had made the save on the first shot.

  2. This happened with the penguins years ago. I think back when MAF was still the goalie. And I think it was the rangers. Rangers double tap was ruled a no goal, teams brought back out and the penguins won.

  3. Fire keefe already. Rip the C off of Tavares. And trade nylander for defence. Because you can’t afford 11 million again ,

  4. I shut off the game right after the Florida goal figuring it was over and i had to go to bed, woke up in confusion checking the score thinking “didnt we lose last night?” 😂

  5. As a Rangers fan, I'm been on the bad side of this before (look up Dan Boyle disallowed shootout winner). We would have won if it counted, but was called back. We also ended up losing that game. It's the rules, but it always sucks when it happens. This is why I hate shootouts.

  6. since 2000, hockey slowly started to get boring and starting to suck. All these new rules and this stupid overtime shootout. It's not like before where there was more hitting, and more aggressiveness. Now it's YAWN !!!! Bring back the Blue Line, Bring BACK the Goalie crease and Bring Back for goalies to go to the corners. Because this is really not CANADIAN HOCKEY !!

  7. As a leafs fan I initially thought the refs got it wrong and it was a good goal. The replays they showed on the broadcast weren’t great. But seeing it now, it was the right call.

  8. 1:11 unhealthy for the heart? the leafs are still riding a 55 season stanley cup drought with no end in sight. Our hearts have been completely fucked for generations now 🙁

  9. I was only 13 but I remember the 03-04 bruins and their insane 30 OT games. The hockey parents wouldn’t stop talking about it.

  10. This hasn’t happened since a game between New York and Pittsburgh during the 2015 season.

  11. I'd rather they allow goals like this than the out of hand moves that are clearly against the forward momentum rule. Didn't see any in this video, but saw wayyyyy too many last year with just the Rangers where players' front legs were clearly going back behind the further spot the hind leg left, some where the player clearly skated as much as 3-4 feet backward. They need to add a shot clock for penalty shots, but then allow rebounds like this or backward skating, as long as you can get it in in time. It would make he game for more skill based than the stupid showmanship crap that is not true hockey. And a fast skater would have more options. Like maybe a wraparound goal

  12. i totally missed it on the replays i saw, but its pretty clear on that slowed down one that there was a double tap.

  13. Wish we had these refs in my beer league game. Someone played a shot off of the rebound on the pads, a solid foot in front of the goalie, and they counted it.

    That was a bummer.
