  1. Canucks can now sign Ethan Bear or trade for Tanev. As for Beauvillier, he was a salary dump for a 5th round magic bean…

  2. The Kings are trouble for any team. They play a responsible game and with their depth and youth it makes them true contenders. Id be surprised if they dont go deep.

  3. Awesome show guys, what would be cost of getting JOHN CARLSON from Washington, at age of 33 and 3 more years at $8m will he be a good RD fit for the Canucks? Love to hear what you guys think

  4. Pesce: too big a FISH? I can't tell if Quads sees what he did there

Jokes aside, it really comes down to acquisition cost and what a contract extension might look like, as he'll be 30 when his next contract kicks in. My main caveat though is where he is health-wise, because if I'm not mistaken, he's already had a couple of shoulder surgeries in his career, meaning his game could have increased risk of significant drop off relative to more normal expected on ice regression. Otherwise, outside of Chris Tanev, there probably isn't a better stylistic fit out there to play beside Quinn Hughes than Pesce imo, at least maybe until Tom Willander comes along, so that could nulify the concerns of not being optimal for driving a D-pair of his own. I wouldn't be too worried about Pesce blocking Willander either

With Brady Skjei, I would only be worried about him blocking D-Petey should D-Petey continue to exceed expectations and knock on the door for something beyond a 3rd pair role when he eventually comes over

Above all that, either player would have to be willing to play in a Canadian market, and since they're both American players, there is a chance that neither is interested in making such a long-term commitment in the first place, for which management will just have to look elsewhere for blueline help

  5. frank is rite kings vegas colarado canucks done I thk canucks about same "ish" as cgy edm pitts wpg or any middle of the pack team

  6. If Petey gets a 4 mil raise and Hronek gets a 2 mil raise, Blueger, Larrerty and Joshua each get a little bump, maybe 1.5 mil combined. Cole, Friedman and Desmith each get a little bump, maybe 2 mil combined, that's 9.5 million. We save 6 million immediately with Myers gone at the deadline or in the spring. The cap is going up as well so that will easily cover the remaining 3.5 million. They can use the 4.1 they have available on a defenseman. No problems here.

  7. Also how about bringing Perry in to replace beauvillier. You can probably sign him for 1 mil. Question becomes is the locker room strong enough to handle the drama
