Les Flames de Calgary ont échangé le défenseur Nikita Zadorov aux Canucks de Vancouver en échange d’un choix de cinquième ronde en 2024 et d’un choix de troisième ronde en 2026. Le choix de cinquième ronde a été initialement acquis des Blackhawks de Chicago dans le cadre d’un accord distinct plus tôt cette semaine. Le directeur du dépistage de TSN, Craig Button, rejoint SC avec Jay Onrait pour rompre l’accord.

The Calgary Flames would be crazy to trade Tanev – a first rd. pick would not be as good as Tanev! The Flames did ok I think with the trade for Nikita Zadorov. Clear cap room and get a few picks back. I would have like a few young players back instead of the picks.

He actually thought he was the best defenseman on Calgary. He's gonna be angry in Vancouver when they stick him on the 3rd line and he doesn't get the most minutes

I like it cause hes russian that speaks english very well so he can help with our other russian, i love the change the canucks have made in their approach to russians i swear it was just a few years ago there were stories out about how the canucks have always had a bad track record with them other than a few exeptions. Having sergi gonchar as a coach helps alot as well
Canucks have made great moves the past year .. From firing Boudreau .. Hiring Tocchet .. And the few signings and trades have been pure genius!!

To the flames fans who think it’s a good return since flames didn’t have to RETAIN salary, give your head a shake. Considering the number of teams wanting Big Z (Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, Dallas, NJ, Washington, and more) to only get a 3rd and a CONDITIONAL 5th is downright underwhelming. Forget the whole Retaining salary part, so saving 2 million (50% cap space) is somehow going to make flames better? What are they saving cap space for? They will have lots of cap space when they trade Tanev, Lindholm, Hanifin anyways. So retaining excuse is bogus.
