  1. They were patient tonight, not getting clear, clean chances and then an innocuous shot by Nurse squeaks in. Loved the effort by the whole team.

  2. Hate to see a long break during a winning streak, but it might be good to get some good practices in to work on their game and hopefully continue the winning streak. Let’s go Oilers! Play Labamba baby!

  3. Only caught the third period . No panic , Stew looked steady, and great to see the win. 5 day break can give coaching staff time to continue getting this team moving in the right direction. Sound clear

  4. As B.T.O. sings- 'any lovins good lovin, so i took what i could get…'.
We will take the points any way we can get'em.

  5. Definitely notice a different break out and defensive standing up more. Team defence with motion, thank goodness McLeod is shooting instead of circling the net! Notice the confidence starting to build now just need that shut down D man!

  6. I was the same as you Patrick. had faith the team was gonna come back. They just needed to find their footing, which they did.!! Thank you for all of your insights and updates!!!

  7. I had great seats tonight. Nurse def got away with one right before he scored. Ref looked over a second too late and seconds later squeaks one by Helly. There were alot of oil fans that left happy tonight and we all were chanting let’s go oilers outside. Felt 👍 👍

  8. Only thing I don't like about the Oilers right now is the 5 day break! Damn who is making these schedules!? I find Edm plays way better when playing every second night! Damn I find even 2 day breaks screw them up!

  9. Too early to bring Campbell up. Pickard should get at least 1-2 more games. I have said all along not to panic, but the hole still has a long way to be filled.

  10. Rather not have that long a break. 3 days instead of five would be better. As long as you're on a roll keep it going. Don't risk losing momentum. Still need to add though. Third or fourth line, defense and probably goalie. Skinner looks better playing most of the time. Again, Vancouver comes to mind. Trading a 3rd and a 5th for Zadorov? I would have done that trade and somehow work out the cap space issue. Big d-man who plays with a rough edge. Adds depth to their blue line. Vancouver going for it all the way. A new power in the Western Conference. I would check in on Corey Perry. Evander Kane has worked out well. Maybe Perry would too. Add some nastiness. Again, cap space might be an issue. Very nice victory tonight but we still need to add. This team not good enough yet. McDavid and Draisaitl have to carry too much of the load.

  11. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Winnipeg Jets. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones provided to give a foundation. It took 3 websites to gather all of these stats.

This was a Goalie fight and a D fight. Jets got a PP goal late in the first, no scoring in the second then the Oilers got a lucky one from Nurse that dribbled over the line followed by a one timer PP goal by Draisaitl and an Empty Netter by McLeod (who also had a Primary Assist on the Nurse goal). The Oilers dominated in the faceoff circle (44 to 18) and the Jets blocked a lot more shots (18 to 8) but they faced 13 more shots than the Oilers did. This was actually a pretty great game all things considered. It's nice to see the Oilers can lock it down when facing a lock it down team. Nice to see McLeod get his first goal of the season (in GAME 22 FGS). Just a note: It's getting harder to get some of the stats (example, giveaways and takeaways are no longer provided on either Sportsnet or NHL websites, you have to search elsewhere) and you have to look for it too as it's buried in sub-tables. It may mean that some stats drop off the list. I like consistency when looking at analytics and the site I got the Giveaways / Takeaways from uses it's own way of registering other things. I'll just do my best as long as I can and hope it helps. Take care all.
