  1. No matter which team you root for a goalie goal is something to be celebrated. I'm not a fan of either team really, but I do admire the "goalie goals"…damn amazing rare shot…and man, that puck had some serious air time. Good job, Jarry😜

  2. It was cool to see Rusty celebrate on the bench for Jarry. The way he didm you would have thought they were about to win another Cup! And that pass from Malkin to DOC was sick!

  3. Congrats to Jarry. Sooner or later, this is going to become so commonplace, it'll merit an asterisk, not a video.

  4. I'm curios by nature and so had to look it up. The bolts came very close to scoring after, Jarry's, goal, had they, that would have made his goal a game winning goal… the first time ever in NHL history.

  5. Thats' a really dumb move to try with .51 seconds still left in the game, had he missed it would have been icing and would have set up a faceoff back in his zone with plenty of time for the other team to score. He got really lucky there.

  6. Up until last year, I’d never seen pulling the goalie work. I started working as an usher at an arena last November, and of the dozen or so empty nets I saw working those WHL games 7 were scored on, and there were only 2 times where the extra player managed to score. Both times happened on a power play. Frankly I’m surprised goalie goals don’t happen way more often.

  7. Interesting thing to note: this is the 17th goalie goal in NHL history, but only the 10th goalie goal from a goalie shooting the puck directly in the net. A handful of goalie goals are attributed to own goals where the last person to touch the puck was the opposing goalie. This happens far less than even the statline shows.

  8. When I learned it was the first Penguins goalie goal, I was actually surprised. I really thought Fleury had one, it just seems like something he would have done.

  9. My wife and I are in Tampa for a wedding, and were reminded by an interstate billboard our Pens were in town. We bought tickets on a whim, and a hell of a night to go!!!!!!

  10. Your team is down 1 with a minute left, and you shoot for the empty net… What an idiot. That does not go in it is icing, and the faceoff is in your zone and your skaters are out numbered. Jarry is an idiot, and his team pretty much lack the same mental capacity. He should focus more on positional play, instead of pond hockey garbage.

  11. Good for him. The amount of flack that Jarry takes from the fan base sometimes it’s good to see him rewarded with something like this.

  12. this was so amazing to witness watching live (via streaming app, haven't made it to a in person game just yet)! i am new to watching hockey so a lot of the time i feel so out of the loop and like an outsider bc so many amazing things happening before i was a fan, but watching history being made by Jarry was truly something special and i'm a penguins fan so that made it more special

  13. Yahoo Fantasy doesnt even let you assign fantasy points to goalie goals / points / assists. I asked my commissioner and he said if he could it'd give at-least 10-15 points. Madness.
