We were so caught up talking about Lyon, Compher and Fabbri we forgot to give credit to Chiarot for his goal. Very nice high IQ goal by him. Nice pass to Cat down low, and smart decision to follow the play to bury the rebound.

16:14 my only point of contention with this is if the guy retaliating completely neglects the game going on around him and abandons his position to go wail on a guy for his 15 seconds of fame. Letting the play finish and then finding the scumbag you wanna beat up on is completely acceptable in my book, and it feels like the Red Wings do this for the most part. Dirty/nasty plays aside, it only becomes a problem when the game of hockey is suspended because rockem sockem robot 1 didn't like how rockem sockem robot 2 knocked his teammate's head off.

Only got to see the 3rd period and thought the Wings looked good. D and goalie looks a lot better, seem to be learning to do what needs to be done to keep hi danger shots to a minimum and let goalie see shots to make saves. LGRW🏒

Hate to pee in the cornflakes, but still giving up too many opportunities off the rush, making coverage mistakes and allowing danger zone shots. They made Lyon work his butt off against a cellar dweller. Offense and grit were great to watch but your goalie can't bail you out every game. Notice how Rimer hasn't played since the Toronto DUCK? Trade coming?
Lyon is 30, right at the tail of the "PRIME" of a goalie's career for most. Speaking of goalies, props to Tristan Jarry for his goal.

With Kostin… I'm disappointed at the trend among NHL players to go after guys who lay clean hits. However, I love the fact that he's not afraid to throw hands, and stand up for our boys. That's the biggest thing in my mind. The last players I was this big a fan of is Konstantinov and McCarthy. Loved those guys, and I think Kostin has picked up that torch.

Liked the game but loved the interviews with & about Kane even more, Stevie Y was especially talkative with Mickey. After not allowing myself to get excited about this team yet (too many flashes of brilliance followed up but 0 effort games…), I have to admit I'm getting enthused. This low risk, high reward signing could really pay off, If Kane is healthy I could see the Wings going on a tear!

They may have scored 5, but even Lalonde said they played worse than against NYR. Chicago had a lot of oddman rushes and a better team would have buried those.

Oilers fans are as knowledgeable as any fans in the sport. They were devistated to lose Kostin. That struck me at the time and I now see why.
