  1. You're right that it was a perfectly clean hit. Hughes is also right. It was an icing call, and the linaeman blew the whistle way late, after Hathaway had adequate contact. The whistle should've been blown when they reached the hash marks.

  2. It was an icing with a late whistle, agree it shouldnt have been a penalty, but referee has to blow thay dead earlier

  3. This is a horrendous take. There was a whistle it was just late. It was called icing. The whistle goes as Luke touches the puck. How do you not know that Frank? This is more on the linesman than on Hathaway though. You think Hathaway is beating Luke in a race for icing? That’s why Luke lets up because he got there first and it is icing

  4. Is no one seeing the push from behind Hathaway got from Siegenthaler? To me it seems like even though all of this could have been avoided if the refs had done their job, that push is really what led to the hit being as hard as it was. It totally changed Hathaway’s momentum
