  1. A pp1 of larkin, debrincat, kane, seider and ghost could potentially be obnoxiously good.

I like this signing more than I thought I would. We still have cap space and depth to make waves at the trade deadline if need be and we're not married to him if it doesn't pan out. If it does and we get something resembling business as usual from him, that might be the best value contract of the season.

  2. 2:07, I think that you might be underestimating how devastating his injury was to his performance during that year. IF his hip feels good, I'm guessing his numbers will come up significantly. Time will tell I guess.

  3. as a lifetime canucks masochist I'm not a fan of kane but I gotta say as long as he actually plays most of a season and the rumored pay is right, that's a classy move, I'm still bitter about the sundin deal the canucks made so it's nice to see someone that puts the game over the money

  4. I think its a win win situation. Hes gonna be worth 2.7m regardless of how good hes gonna do.

And if hes terrible injured then he retires and its off the cap hit anyways😊

  5. As a RW fan, I like the big picture view. Though hes not really super star status anymore, this is the first "big name" free agent we've signed in, what, a decade? More?
I hope this marks the return of Detroit being a top destination for free agents.

  6. Well I'd say the team as a whole could use the most is some better team defense as well as goaltending, so I don't think even if best case scenario Kane is like his old self he'll change much for the team. The scoring has been better this season, but not going to complain about more scoring especially if it means it'll be spread across the lines more and happening more on the powerplay. That said I think the guys a big question mark and it's good he only on a one year deal.

  7. LMAO y’all were not saying the Red Wings.. all I heard was Rangers, Sabers, Blackhawks everything but Detroit

  8. If he wants to win a championship, not sure why he signed in Detroit. Honestly though Detroit was probably the only team willing to take him on because he's washed up quite frankly.

  9. id much rather see Kane on the ice than them trying to put fresh guys into the league on the ice. nothing spells a worse disaster than mixing rookies into the lineup at this stage in the season.

  10. short of a failed healing from surgery, its very hard to imagine he doesnt have a huge impact. especially on a line with debrincat. this isnt your average kat. this is the best american born hockey player in the NHL. this is patrick kane. all the ifs ands and buts are good for your uncle. not for kane.

  11. I think this is a good deal for both Kane and the Red Wings. I'm kinda pumped for this even though I'm not a Detroit fan lol

  12. I've been watching OhNyquist since the 18/19 season and never have I EVEN ONCE heard this man sound as happy as he did at 0:16 in all these years. It's been a tough ride Redwing-fans but the Yzerplan seems to be coming together after all!

  13. Not hating the guy, loved watching him in Chicago but… 35 years old, reconstructive hip surgery, been in the league since 2007, 2 Stanley Cups. Why not just hang it up? These guys today literally trying to hang on forever.

  14. Either will have a nice impact or a huge impact, don't think he's going to be a bust, he's one of the greatest players of his generation.

  15. wings again hauling way past their prime veterans like they used to, in this case it's even a dude with 80 year old man's hips 😂
