Stop defending this shit effort on the r/Hockey post. Tavares had a 30 second shift before the turnover of almost purely gliding.

Coming up the ice he was in prime position for a change if he was tired, he chose to go play more hockey.

You can clearly see he has ample time to get back and disrupt Marchand with both cameras lined up.

On top of that, Mo opposite side of the ice from Tavares got to our corner to disrupt the puck carrier.

    Zero excuse.

This team has some lazy ass players. Marchand got to net after getting tied up with Nylander and Nylander barely moved anywhere. Tavares doing nothing in all of OT. These guys just show up for a pay check sometimes it feels like, no pride or determination.

Really don’t know what he adds to the team except huge salary space. All of his shifts are useless. He doesn’t bodycheck. He doesn’t protect teammates.

    Hopefully is traded

Nice giveaway Nylander as last man back. Great job

Boo fucking hoo. Literally wouldn’t have changed a single thing.

Rielly never made himself a pass option and Nylander had zero urgency with the puck.

If anything blame Nylanders pedestrian effort with the puck that led to the turnover.

Typically in OT, if a save is made on this rush, it’s coming back the other way. It happened to break down in such a way that Woll couldn’t control the initial stop, allowing the Bruins to get possession back. Had Woll controlled it, it would have been heading the other way and Tavares would have been primed to respond with his own chance. There was no indication until it was too late that Marchand would get a chance. IMO that’s just the nature of 3 on 3.

Ultimately, Nylander chose to try and force one last rush rather than make the safe play and loop back given that we were making a change. He demonstrated poor situational awareness, plain and simple.

    On to the next one.
