If they have to move a player on the leave roster, then do it. We need a defenseman. Don’t worry about who’s hurt who is not hurt what’s just get a defenceman
Tanev is to old, injury prone and not in his prime anymore. They should have fought for Zadorev. Tanev is a mistake imo.
I think I have been seeing "trade coming" "big move.." from here for weeks…
I think Treliving would be seeking to trade for Tanev and Gilbert. Gilbert is a fighter and a D guy. Fits along as a 7th spot. Toronto will still get two D guys, but at the same time, Toronto would need to move a young D player + a forward prospect/multiple picks. Since Calgary signed a D guy named Pysyk recently. It could be said that there could be something if Tre is seeking physicality + experience in a package trade.
Toronto Maple Leafs have known for years that they needed a defence core to actually win a cup. They are the worst run franchise in the league partly because they’re the richest that trade with Calgary should’ve went through but they can’t make anything happen because of their overpaid superstars and Brennan Shawna plan, not letting anything happen sticking with the core for which will never work without a defence core and balanced team. It’s so obvious and annoying that they can’t understand this.
Tanev's price will be higher than Zadorov. Flames made the Zadorov move for cap space and are not going to retain cap on any trade. Also Zadorov wanted out. Calgary is still in the playoff hunt and not going to sell off their chance to make it. Ha the Canucks want to get Bobby Orr out of retirement….Not going to happen. This post makes no sense unless Leafs make the cap room needed and even then I don't see Tanev getting traded.

Toronto has the Talent They need in the Marlies with Gaudette , O Brien , Miller and Villeneuve .
They are all Right Handers which Toronto is Very Weak in that Position.
Everybody is a Lefty on the Right side and it makes the Team Less Effective.
Toronto is a sports city with all bs talking and no action all these gms and reporters need to stop getting fans high hopes of a deal happening but I guess that's what their job is especially youtube vloggers to hear about these rumors and quickly make a video every other day that a deal is going to happen.
We saw last night how an organized the defensive side of the maple leaves is and you cannot blame the players on that. Have a nice one❤
