I still don’t understand why it’s hard to believe that this team is a retooling team trying to avoid what Arizona, Buffalo and detroit all went through and what Chicago and San Jose are going through now.
Blues fan since the 90s. One improvement from last year is that they had bigger peaks and valleys on the “champs”/“chumps” streaks.
I do think they keep challenging for the wild card through the season, maybe win a round, but they don’t have a player who can turn the scoring on. In just about every playoff year other than 2019, that’s what killed them.
Hi Shannon, love your channel. Been a Blues fan all my life, and living in Toronto, I get the jabs all the time "Why the Blues?" Why…I say, did you watch the leafs in 80's…Lol. Norris division rival, and always in mix for the playoffs. Every season to me, only revolves the 2 games, aginst the leafs. Everything else is gravy.
The scary part about the two shootout games is that both games were exact copies. The Blues challenged a goal and got it reversed, the opposing team scored first, the Blues tied it, and the home team won the shootout. It's the only time the Blues have won when they gave up the first goal

This season has been brutal for blues fans. The lack of consistency is maddening. Beating great teams soundly one night and blown out by bottom feeders the next. We have no idea what this team is.
They were similar last season in that it was not unusual for them to beat the “good” teams and lose to the “bad” teams. I think that they are too hard on themselves and dwell on their mistakes rather than clear the slate and bounce back— they are losing the mental battle this season, hence why they auto lose if trailing after the first.
Kyrou has been working harder this year, but he still doesn’t put in the same effort as his teammates. And despite Thomas’s numbers he doesn’t work as hard as others on the team either. It’s very frustrating because the potential is so obviously there, but the heart is not.
Neighbours replaced Kyrou on the first line and first power play unit and he deserves it. He’s more of a goal scorer this season than Kyrou and he makes 1/10 of the salary. He knows how to work.

This team doesn’t play good consistent team defense. I do think they have a better defensive scheme this year, so I don’t believe it’s the coaching. Frankly, they just don’t appear to have the talent. They’d be a bunch of bottom 9 forwards and bottom 2 pairing defenseman on a Cup contender. Consequently, they have to play a very tight team game to win. But, I don’t think they’re capable of consistently doing that. Hence, the up and down record.
I think the goaltending is the only reason that they’re above .500. But, as the season wears on, I fear the bad team defense will drag down the goaltending. That is as they over compensate in their positioning because they don’t trust the team in front of them to perform their job (stop the pass on a two on one for example). All that said, I very much hope I’m wrong about the team.
im a blues fan and i think they shouid be looking to trade out oider players and get younger. sure they could make the playoofs this year and lose in the first round, been there done that, but to win another cup they need to get bettter players and you do that with high first round picks, not mid to late first round picks. great work as always on the video.
I think the top 3 in Central are set and top 2 in Pacific. They are 1 of probably 4 teams for 3 spots I am guessing. I think they are the least likely to be the ones to make it because the other teams are just better over the entire season.
I'm a lifer. I do bleed Blue. But holy smokes! This team is just so puzzling, ugh. When do you think we bring Dvorski up ?
I think the Blues (like the Oilers and the Leafs) are unpredictably good. They can be a cup contender or a lottery contender on any given night. The one thing I can’t figure out is whether the Blues are a good team with bad coaching or a bad team with good coaching.
For me, it feels like the games I say we need to win, we lose. The ones I say we can’t win, we win. And the ones that I write off as a sure win go 50/50

Great video as always, Shannon. Blues fan here…I think the biggest problem heading into this season was (and has been) figuring out the lines. The skill sets of this forward group and d-corps are really hard to figure out, and creating lines with chemistry has been Berube's biggest puzzle this year. I finally think we are getting some things sorted out with Kyrou on a line with Schenn and Hayes – he seems to do better with the two veteran players than he did on a line with Thomas (who is I think a more mature player than Kyrou, and their play styles just don't work well together). If they can figure out the right recipe for the lines, I believe everything will start to settle down after 4-5 games without changes to the lineup.
I see an emotional team, when they are up they are feeling great and showing it, but when they go down there seems to be some "next game" mentality.

I feel that the blues have missed their chance at another cup in 2022. They had a legit team and ever since binnington got injured that series, they didn’t look the same.
Could one of the issues be that they have 8 defensemen and only 13 forwards? Just seems that the defenseman backlog has hamstrung the whole team.
Just looking at the names on this team they should be contending but they just have to find the drive to win for each other and want to go to the top. Once they find it they’ll be a hard to team to face
Thank you for covering the absolute enigma that is this team. I just don’t get them. This team won’t go anywhere in the playoffs, but I want to see them make it just to stick it to all the analysts that have them ranked 26-30.
Future of the Blues is all about Snuggerud- he’s our Bedard. Dvorsky will be great, but not a superstar like Snuggerud
After seeing the blues play the coyotes last night, they did not look play-off ready. Their fans sure were though. Listening to blues fans around me cheer and talk trash before their second goal was disqualified was hilarious once they realized it didn't count 😂.
armcock and the bbq club time has come and gone. time for a new vision. this roster assembly is terrible .. what a great goal by walman last night and griddy celly .. but we have turn over machine leddy for like another 10 years
20 goals hopefully .. has better players on line now so might get more pts .. maybe 20-15-35 hopfully he becomes a 40-60 pt player similar to david backes .. maybe this year
I think losing Jim Montgomery from the coaching staff is also a factor.
