They added two players on the decline (Simmonds and Subban), two players that hadn't played a single NHL game (Hughes and Gusev), and didn't address their goaltending.
I was shocked when folks were calling them playoff bound.
Sigh… I hate my team
There at a point where everyone is playing disjointed and at times it's like they don't even care. I think Coleman & Palms have been the most consistent but Hall has been Snakebitten this season and it is starting to get into his head. The defense definitely needs to be repaired through free agency and the draft as well as goaltending. They've shown they can produce goals this season but allowing late period goals, weak goals, turnovers, lack of fore checking, poor passing is all handled through a culture of coaching. Hynesie may be liked by his players but he's a far leap from a motivating coach like Lou Lamoriello. They don't need a friend, they need a leader which they obviously do not have. Shero should have fired Hynes last season. He definitely needs to do it now.

I would say the Red Wings are the biggest disaster. At least the Devils have a couple young budding stars. The Wings got nothing. Larkin is good, but not elite, and then their prospects are pretty poor overall.

Put Hughes on another team hes close to a ppg I've never seen so many guys not bury the wide open chances he gives his teammates. Hynes system does not work they're last or close to it in every offensive category
