  1. Why would players know how to take a hit? Lines are getting kicked out of games for a little dust up. The NHL wants a no hit league.

  2. Gotta say, I kind of agree with Torts as weird as that is. I grew up playing travel hockey in a small town and there were harder hits in those games than 80% of NHL regular season games now.

  3. Torts i think has some dumbass takes but 100% agree with him on players not playing to take hits, and in fact putting themselves in those situations because its to their advantage the way the league is going. I enjoy that the league has become more speed and skill based, and the days of the matt cookes, scott stevens, raffi torres etc etc. Has largely come to an end, truely at times malicious hitters looking specifically to take people out. However, the mantra of "keep your head up" seems to mean nothing to alot of younger stars, and if the league continues to cater to that, it fundamentally changes the game for the worse imo. You see players not playing through the whistle, turning their backs on the boards last second, ripping up center ice head not on a swivel at all to try and mcdavid their way into the zone, etc. Just 2 for example, protecting a puck on the boards, and zone entries, are both things that hitting is a legitimate defensive tool against, if players cant respect that and get blown up, thats on them, because the offense having to be aware of and adjust their game to that legal threat is PART of the skill of the game, you dont just get to dnagle everywhere with no situational awareness and think no one is gonna touch you, ita a contact sport. Love the hughes bros, im a vancouver fan, but dude should not have got a game miaconduct for that, had luke not just assumed he gets the icing(because the refs fuck up alot)and braces for the hit, he would be fine, otherwise thats a clean hit imo.

  4. Great channel dude! So just bro-mmenting here lol, I have Kuch on my fantasy team and also decided in the beginning of the season to ride the goalie no one though to pick, Johansson. The Lightnings offense, been watching them a lot, is there but they lose focus or something on some games. Its almost like they're so talented they're forgetting the discipline. The problem wasn't at the goal, tho lotta love for Vas, the Lightning need some retooling and adjust their strategy to shift for different playstyles better. When you see the Ducks, love the Ducks but bad news bears team too often, spank the team that spanks TB…you know theres a more chesslike strategem missing in their tool kit. My 2 bits 😎

  5. Oh, I also decided since no one likes Kane (and I AM from the Chicagoland area, so it totally feels sacrilegious on the Wings, and my leagues based there) and was on LTIR and my IR on my roster was empty, grabbed him and slotted him. Signed with the Wings, called in the other game and mentioned it being cool if DeBrincat scored his 200th, happened on the phone call. The ingredients are there…its just, is Kane gonna be fresh enough. Them some BroForwards

  6. The physical play is ok. It’s an emotional game. Keep woke politics out of it. That’s what’s killing it my friend.

  7. Part of the reason for icing is to prevent racing into the boards. That doesn't make the refs responsible for Boarding though. Seriously just stop with that.
