This is great news. Klingberg needs to get the medical help to get his life back, and at the same time, the team desperately needs the cap space. Expect a trade soon…

Tanevs best plus minus is a + 35 a better option than Ristolainen whose best was a minus 2 Tanev is also one of the best shot blockers in the league, very underrated
Leafs will want Calgary to cover 50%. I don’t see Calgary doing that quickly. I think they would need some time to see if anyone would be willing to take Tanev at full contract before they pivot and take extra assets by covering 50% of the salary. If they wanted the better asset return, they wouldn’t have taken pennies for Zadorov.

Tre has made numerous mistakes since taking over as GM of the Leafs! Klingberg over Schenn, wrong. Reaves has been disappointing to say the least, tough, really? And the longer you do not sign Nylander, the more he is going too demand, because he has been one of the best players on the team so far this season!

You see that, the Leafs could have traded Nylander to Calgary and picked up Zadorov and Tanev, while still having Klingberg money, in the bank!!!. Nylander 1 point in five games, but yeah lets pay him $11.5 Million, to be a goal sucking, puck hog???

I'm still predicting the Leafs will win the cup in the next 5 years but don't believe it will be this year. They definitely need help on the blue line but would hope they DON'T trade Nylander to get a top 4 defenseman.
