Gotta say – Jacques looks good.
Staios and Andlauer keep repeating that they want to make sure to do things right, well you haven't !! You had plenty of time since you knew you had the team bought. We are freaken last in the conference, how is that a sign that you made sure things were done right?? This team should have been a playoff team three years ago. LA and the Rangers started their rebuilt when we did and look at them now. LA 15-4-3, Rangers 18-5-1 Why ?? Because they had great coaching, not because their players are better than ours but because they had better coaching. Say what you want Staios but it all starts with the head coach. I can't wait to see your eyes popping out of your head once you realize that we will not make the playoffs and as long that DJ is the head coach we won't.
Ross is giving off the same vibes as my cat when he's sitting in the sun on a nice summer day. I'm just waiting for him to try and eat that plant behind him.
Jacques Martin should be interim head coach not an advisor. Give him full control and we will come back and make the playoffs. Otherwise we are screwed yet another year.

Jacques was the main reason why the Senators was a playoff team each year. Murray thanked him to have them ready. Pittsburgh hired him as an assistant coach and won back to back cups. This guy is the real deal.

This to me is the proof that there will not be a coaching change this year. Martin is too old to take over as interim, so this hiring is strictly to insulate DJ. It shows the organization wants DJ to succeed and will give him every chance, which may be fruitless but at least a professional and respectful way to address our coaching staff

Yes. I loved it. It shows that Staios is trying to find creative solutions for this team, building up an organization with more, capable pieces.
It also goes hand-in-hand with what Andlauer said yesterday, about putting people in a position to succeed.

Perhaps Jacques can help advise the coaching staff on how to run special teams, because my GOD they have gotten ugly.
There powerplay in October ranked 13th at 21.1%, and their penalty kill ranked 23rd at 75.9%.
Since then the PP has ranked 25th at 14.9% and the PK has ranked 29th at 71.8%.
Considering how much of a strength special teams were last year, they need to get back to that if they want a shot. It seems every time they get on the power play it’s forced passes and a momentum killer, and it’s getting to the point where I have no confidence in their PK whatsoever.
Can’t nitpick after a win, but considering where those stats rank among teams I think it’s worth mentioning. 5 on 5 has picked up at least and despite having a bad PP they still rank 6th in GF/GP.

Was Lucky enough to be at the game in Toronto in November. Highlight of my season so far. Never thought I'd hear a Go Sens Go chant drown out the Leafs in their own barn. I hadn't gone to a Leafs Sens game in Ottawa for a while, but it struck me the difference between the Toronto fans there and the ones who trek down here. A lot more civil there I gotta say.
