This makes me think he will want to stay with the Red Wings longer than the 1 year as long as things go well on his recovery and the Wings make playoffs. He has said many times how he sees something special being built in Detroit, and I bet he would rather prove it to himself and grow with Detroit as we become a playoff team again vs him just trying to win it with a team that’s already been “in contention.”
For once, I hope he is.
