Uh, no. How in any way does that make sense?

  2. MostLikelyDenim

Yeah a few articles have touched on it. Makes zero sense.

  3. roscomikotrain

    Hell no!

An old expensive one way d man- makes no sense whatsoever

Sure, Barrie and a 1st for a 7th to free up NSH cap space for Nashville’s Wild card run.
Then trade Barrie to the Leafs for their first.

If they trade Hanifin for solid assets and take Barrie’s contract for further assets, why not?

His contract is expiring and obtaining him is free and/or gaining assets, so what difference would it make? Paying something for him, however, is a no go. The guy is well known by this point for his game style.

Get out! You’re no longer welcome here.

Only if Nashville is upgrading their D by getting Hanifin and signing Hanifin to an extension to make the money work

In which case Nashville is also giving us either 2 Firsts or a First and at least a B+ prospect

Feels like the author needed five teams to make a list and then just scrambled to fill it regardless of whether it made sense or not. This is especially bad what with Kylington skating again and Poirier returning in a couple of months or so.

Is Barrie a pick? Is Barrie a blue chip prospect? No and no?

    Answer is hard no

No. If they need to send barrie over in order to make a roster spot for hanifin and we can get our hands on some of their young players and picks as well, maybe I’d maybe be interested but we shouldn’t be targeting him at all.

No why does this keep coming up?

Sometimes there’s a series of articles around a guy and the only reason he’s talked about is because people have heard his name. This is one of those times.

Flames are not playoff bound. Conroy has zero vision for the team right now.

I think so, if they retain half. He puts up points on the pp and put up good numbers last time he played in this province.

IMO the only way this makes sense is if it’s something like Barrie + 2nd for Dube + Rooney.

If Barrie can get our PP going, it could increase his value and we could flip him for more at the deadline.
