@Flyers de Philadelphie

    > I do think Toronto’s taken a look at Philadelphia’s Rasmus Ristolainen, who has three seasons remaining on a five-year, $25.5M contract. But, I don’t believe the Flyers are eager to give him away, and there’s no rush for them to do anything while their group is playing well. That’s not to say it couldn’t be something down the road, but when the team is competing hard, getting good results and generally doing what is being asked of them — why throw a stink bomb into your dressing room?

    The full blurb (Had to shorten for the title)

    If Briere is not willing to trade a terrible contract at the onset of a rebuild, he’s no better than Fletcher. Difficult decisions need to be made, even if might upset that locker room temporarily. Having the chance to lose a terrible contract is a blessing that should not be taken for granted.

    Crazy to think that the guy who was trying to give Sanheim away for free would now want to hold on to Ristolainen. Horrible priorities.

    No reason to rush on things – we’re not even half way through December yet and Torts has the team running nicely.

    I trust in Danny.

    I believe they’re moving the players as they need to. Win or lose they’re looking better than they did last year. I think that puts them in a good position to wait for the best value for a trade and if they don’t trade him it’s because they’re getting better value by keeping him at the moment.

    I can’t believe the hesitancy here to move him. Yes, he’s been better than his absolutely brutal start to his career, but he’s still a 4-5 D at best. Rushing this rebuild because the team is barely clinging to a playoff spot while playing way above their talent level is not the right approach.
