Peter Laviolette was asked today if he believes Filip Chytil will return to the #NYR this season. "I think he's moving in the right direction… Yeah, I think he'll return (to playing)."
Been out since Nov. 3. Slow process but #NYR are being very patient and careful with Chytil.

Desperately need him back we lack so much creativity when leaving the zone and he’s someone that can go through 3-4 players to enter and exit a zone, maybe our only player that can.
Since we’ve been banking all these points makes no sense to rush him. Let him get to 100% then we can have Chytilmania primed for the playoff run. 🙏
Would be huge if he came back. As good as this team’s been playing, they aren’t going to go far with Bonino at 3C.
I have a lot of faith in what Lavi says just because he’s so direct and comes across as less evasive than Gallant and less combative than Quinn so if he believes Fil will be back I’ll believe it too.
If he does come back I really really hope they figure out a way for him to play safely.
At 18-5-1, Filip can take all the time he needs to get well
Only come back if you’re 100% Chytil.
That being said, my god do we need him. Bonino and his 35.6 Corsi% (worse on the team, though Goodrow is right there with him) is driving the third line into the ground.
will return to the NYR this season – good news. give thim time to recover. we are doing good now so no need to rush his return
This isn’t just about hockey, it’s about the quality of the rest of his life. Take as long as he needs. We don’t need another Michael Sauer happening.
I’d hate to lose him, but he should probably seriously consider not playing anymore. Even if he fully recovers from this one, the next one could be life altering.
That said, I’m not a doctor and I don’t have any details. If he has top level medical people checking him out and they clear him without any concerns about future concussions compounding the effects…then play on. Obviously I hope that’s what happens.
Re: last sentence – As they should be. He’s a young guy and I would not want to see him suffer long term because “the game” – it’s just not worth it imo.
The seriousness of this has really accelerated that this is the tone of the comeback
It’s very hard to think this way as a fan but like… one more concussion and he’s probably retiring?
At this point let him and Kakko heal and bring them back in March
