CARM!, tell me why I am wrong here, If the analytical numbers in a game were skewed to Edmonton (the team that did not have a 3-4 goal lead) i.e. the skinner meltdown game, all of that play on the ice is rooted in how the team is situated score-wise for those 60 minutes. Thats like saying a quarterback down 3 touchdowns had a 115 passer rating when the quarterback on the winning team (think of a ravens game for example) did not do much. Lamar could finish with 175 yards, a TD and an interception and they could be content to run the ball and play defense and be highly inefficient on offense once they had a big lead and be content to run the clock, not take chances, and kick a field goal or two. Obviously the Ravens love blowing leads but efficiency of an offense or team IN RELATION to the actual score of the game is what matters. Of course the team trying to climb out of a hole that is general a quality team like Edmonton is still capable of playing well on the ice down a ton of goals. I just do not see why their opponent in your example would have cared or had the incentive to match their play from an analytical standpoint when the lead was virtually insurmountable. Thoughts? I would think 'DRAWING A LINE" through fantastic play and analytical numbers when a game has been decided would make more sense. Unless you just want to know they can skate and play well on the wrong side of a blowout.
